| I am going to pick up a couple for trolling. I mostly troll from lil ernies to like 10 inch jakes,and the 9inch cisco kids. what size would cover these baits? I want a 7 or 8 for lenght...thanks for the info...SM | |

| I just got 2 8' MH. I will mostly be trolling the smaller stuff like Bagleys, maybe some Tuff Shads, Slammers, and Lil Ernies. I think this will fit your desires just fine. Although, it would be interesting to hear from others what size rod might be able to handle the big 10" Jakes, because that I cannot answer. Hope this helps! | The new TDR rods are nicer than last years, tough and cheap! The TDR-80H2B is a 2-piece 8' heavy action trolling rod for $30 and a great way to get into trolling. This is the best rod for trolling the slightly bigger baits like the Cisco Kid and 10"Jake. If you're going bigger/faster, then it is time to look at a Fig Rig, St.Croix or Thorne Bros Custom in a one-piece fiberglass blank. The medium heavy TDR will work fine for the smaller baits like the Lil'Ernies.
