I do love the patterns of the Hughes Rivers, but I have also become quite fond of Bikini Bait Companies art work, as well as Joe's art work who makes the True Glides.

True glides are first two, Bikini Bait Co. are last two. Joe can be reached at: [email protected] and Jed can be reached at: http://www.bikinibaitcompany.com

I don't want to be self-promoting, but these are my 3 favorites.
There are only 5 in existance of the top color, and you 4 other guys that have them should treasure them. Right you muskie nuts and walking bull?
The second was the first real multi-color, multi scale pattern lure that I did. I'm still proud of it and found out that you get out of a paint job what you put into it.
The last is a Phantom that I did back when it wasn't cool to be pink.
Guys are often e-mailing me for a page of samples. Hell, most of the lures that I did in the beginning I only did 2 or 3 of. Many one of kinds.
I'll never be a Jim Wilson, but like one guy told me, "He's just got a different technique than you do." Every lure painter has their own little 'thing'.
I also like what I did to Worrals Weagle.

All the custom paint jobs I see here on the forum are amazing.
I wanted one of those Elmo Castors. Very cool paint job.

I had to get the Van Halen paint job on the Phantom this weekend.
Friend wants to buy it for me since he is a huge fan. LOL. He doesn't even fish.

Another great Idea.
I couldn't narrow it down, so here are my top choices:
Whoever is the paint man for Muskie Mania/Drifter did it right on the 2 Jakes.
I love the Holoform orange tiger
Dale Wiley's White Lightning is gonna be one of my best colors at Kinkaid
Kyle Marsanicks Holoform Largemouth bass...you should see the looks bass fisherman give!
Keith Eldrup's work on the Hellhound. Pictures dont do justice to the color shift in the paint, green, purple and gold all show through.
Love the baits!!!

This is far from being one of my best home made baits but just wanted some opinions on the color. Everyone probably has caught those perch with all the black specks on their body. I don't know what it is called, but I don't like them. Is it a disease, parasite?? Anyway I never saw a lure specifically showing this. I'm sure the fish will eat them, right? Anyway here is a slow sinker yet to get a test run.

Anyone ever see these perch with the raised small black spots? Anything wrong with them? Fish will still eat them right?

I think that paint job looks pretty cool.
I don't think a muskie eyeballs a perch and goes 'Hmm that one has crabs, no thanks!'

You guys do awesome work and it looks like a lot of fun. I'm just starting to play with homemade lures. I have four hardwood bodies carved up and waiting for additional work and paint.

The black spot is called Neascus. From the MN DNR, "Neascus (black spot) is a common parasite that is native to the area. It cannot infect humans, is often removed by filleting, and is killed at temperatures used to cook fish." Google for more info.
