Location: Marshfield, WI | I was cleaning the house today and found 2 old baits that I have no idea what the names are. One is a jerkbait I got several years ago at a show. Haven't used it much. Anybody else have one and any success? The other bait is a topwater bait. The unique thing about this bait is the spring loaded single hook. The hook is spring loaded onto the little piece of metal. When a fish hits, it will pull back on the rear treble, which pulls back the little piece of metal and releases the single hook, which snaps back and hopefully would hook the fish. I do think the hook gap is too small to actually hook the fish. I'm also not sure how safe this would be for a fish. The bait does have to be "armed" to use it. Otherwise, that single hook will be pointing away from the bait and not allow the rear propellor to spin. I only used it once and did have a bass hit and miss it.

Location: Marshfield, WI | I never said I liked the patterns. If I planned on actually fishing them, they probably would need a paint job.

Location: Yahara River Chain | esox69, I'm real sure you are right about being a bait made by Al Tumas. I never ever seen the other one before. |

Location: Marshfield, WI | I know a little bit more about the topwater bait. It was made by a guy in Central WI. I used to work with her daughter and she gave me one to try. She said he stopped making them because one of the parts wasn't being made anymore. Not sure which part. The bait does have a patent on it. Not sure what year(s) they were made. I did see one on ebay over a year ago, but they didn't include a name either. It did go for $32-35 bucks.
