Subject: Very large bucktails

I know some guys are experimenting with very large, long bucktails (4 oz. or so) with over sized and sometimes thick blades (#9..#10 Colorado or Indiana) but I have yet to hear anything about the results. They are using them in clearer water.
Obviously you would have to have the proper setup to try this presentation.
Anyone out there tried it? If so, how did it work?

Hi Rick,

I would call Ron Douglas at Crazy "D" Tackle the number is 715-874-6996. Tell him what you have in mind and he will make it. I think you will be very happy with the product he puts out. I've used his lures for years now and I still have some of the original bucktails he made for me.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks to those who responded, great info; what I am really seeking feedback on is the effectiveness of the big-blade & large bucktail approach in clear water versus using the traditional sizes.
Thanks again.
