I would like to fish one or all of the following lakes this summer Vermillion, Leech or Cass. Are these lakes within a few hours of each other? Those of you that have fished these before when would be the best time of the summer months (June, July, or August) to fish them? Also what resorts would you recommend?

I can only help ypu with Cass. I've fished there the last week of July for the last 6 years and have done pretty well. I've also done the last week of August a few times and have also done well. I think just like anywhere else, weather plays a big role. The topwater bite has been good both months. As far as resorts, Wishbone is top notch. Good luck!

Cass and Leech Lake are close (<20 miles) but Vermilion is at least 3 hours drive from Leech or Cass (~150 miles)

If you choose Vermilion - First week in July normally is a productive time...find weed /rock edge. There are ALOT of good lakes near Leech you can trailer to. Cass can be very tough if you have never fished it!

All three lakes are sewers...no fish in any of 'em.
