I have a jerkbait rod that needs fixing hopefully without sending it out ? The reel seat is loose , I mean the whole plastic piece whenever I jerk the reel moves and it drives me nuts ! Is there an easy quick fix for this ?

Drill a small whole in the top of the seat and one in the middle. Fill a syringe with either two-part epoxy or polyurathane glue and inject it into the seat. If done carefully it you shouldn't hit the blank as their should be a small gap between the reel seat and the blank. I'd use the glue as it expands, thus requiring getting less in the seat.

woody has it right!

Don't spend the money to send it out and have someone take off the handle to re-glue it.

Warm the epoxy with a hair dryer and it will flow nice. After injecting, tape off your holes so it won't drip. Make sure you have it in line with your guides.
