Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | I got a 3 bank, on-board charger today. I have 4 batteries in my tub (2 trolling motor, 1 crank, 1 accessorie). My question of the day is: can I slit one of the banks into 2 batteries, or no (sorry, Freedom accenct).

| If you split one of the banks, it will work it will just take that bank longer to charge. Those split bank batteries must be put in parallel. | |

Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | Some of the new chargers on the market, such as the Pro Mariner's and Cabela's Advanced Anglers line, will send more amps to the bank that has the lowest charged battery. So if the crank and acessory batteries need less of a charge then when they're full it will send all of the amps to both trolling batteries. This should help cut down on some of the charge time needed. But Muskyman is correct you would have to put both trolling batteries in parallel.
