1) I've got a Crestliner Fishhawk 1850 DC and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to where to place the handrails I just bought? They're 22 1/4" long if that helps.

2) Trolling leaders. Wire, fluoro, mono? Lengths?

3) Does anyone have an email or phone number for Jerry Borst? I heard he makes good lure retrievers (not the pole but the ones that slide down your line). Thanks!

For trolling we use 50 pound mono in 4 to 5 ft lengths. Started out using 80 pound floro (too stiff) went to 80 lb mono (better) then finally down to 50 lb mono. Much more supple for lure action and still extreemly bite proof. We didn't lose a fish to a bit off last year and ran the 50 lb all year. I snap on lead at the rod end of the leader to catch weeds and run the lures deeper when needed. I use from zero to 6 oz on the boards and 6 to 24 oz on the down rods and wash rods.

The mono is cheap to replace, save the sampos off each end and re-tie a bunch at home. If you feel any nicks with your finger then just replace.

These rails sound like bow mounts. I have ranger rail mounts-- they're about 43 inches and I put as far back as possible on my boat. This really helps when you're running down a irregular breakline. I have 2 inch aluminum spacers so I can use the down east rod holders. Godd luck --Todd K.
