| Made it out on a Central Illinois Lake this weekend. Had 5 hits, two hookups, and the closest I got to landing one was a shake off by a mid 30" fish at the boat. I was lacking the "magic" lures; rattletraps. I had two rattlers that were less than a half ounce. Trying to cast those with musky gear just wasn't working. Anywhoo, water temps were running 40-43 degrees all weekend. Stiff winds both days. I saw about 7-8 fsh caught up to about 37-38" so they are being caught! |

| Jeremy,
Did you make it out on Sunday? How'd you do on Saturday when we saw you? Sorry to hear you didn't boat that fish but at least you got some action!

| Thad - Rattletraps. I didn't see a thing or have a hit till I put one on. I was in the other black/tan 1850 on Saturday. Was that an 1850 you were in? Love those boats. Anywhoo, I fished for about 3 hours on Saturday and nothing going till I realized everyone was throwing traps. Put on a small one and boom, hit. I tried some cranks with rattles after that, I tried some soft plastics/creatures which I put rattles in, and jerkbaits with rattles. NOTHING! I couldn't believe these fish only wanted Rattletraps... Very strange. I'm sure they do eat other baits but not this past weekend! |
