| Yes, I usually take one or two trips South to hit the early opener. I try to pick my shots with a nice warm mid week
day. I don't head down on opening day but usually during the week after it. |

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | JohnMD, Let's not forget about Michigan Boundry Waters opening on the 15th of May. Hopefully I can make LVD on the 15th to prefish the WMT. Otherwise I'll be hitting Tenderfoot or the Cisco Chain hard. |

| John, I count 76 days til the southern opener, but I like you'r math better.
I don't usually make the trip up for the northern opener, but wait until some of my friends up there
tell me the fishing is hot.
76 or 72 days, I can't wait.

Northern opener... I go out the patio door and to the lake.
Hey Sanks...Mid June again...take a day off during the week and head up. |

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | "Hot" is a good word Sanks, usually, during the first few weeks of the opener (Boundry waters mainly) you'll find fish re-cooping from the spawn in water 2' or less. Fish can be lathargic and the water temps are hoovering about 45 or so. |
