Was wondering if there are any good tackle shops around Green Bay that carry a good selectoin of musky items. I will be up there this weekend for a youth hockey tournament and have to kill some time between games.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

There's a new sportshop called Sportsman Warehouse that's just off HWY 41 in De pere. You would have to take the Schuering Exit to get there from the highway. It's near the Wallmart and Dairy Queen. It has a pretty nice selection of musky baits. They have some baits that you won't typically find in other sporting good stores.
Add Gander Mountain and good ole Fleet Farm you have a couple other places that have a great selection of musky baits. The Gander Mountain in Green Bay has a really nice selection of musky baits. Gander Mountain and Fleet Farm can also be found off HWY 41 and you'll want to take the HWY 29 exit. Go through the first set of stop lights(if you're coming from the south), and take a right to go towards Fleet Farm. Take a left to go Towards Gander Montain. Gander is tucked away just past Woodman's.Take a right by the road after the Woodman's Gas station. Take the road straight down and you should see Gander Mountain on your right.

catch ya later,

the Fleet Farm has an OK selection.
it's out by 41/Shawano Rd. (Hwy 29) which is very near to Gander so you could easily hit both.

Bob's is on the Northwest side of town on Velp (there is an exit off of 41). Not a whole lot for musky bait selection, but they do have some stuff some other shops don't carry. You are better off coming to Appleton and hitting the Sportsman, on Wisconsin Ave.

We do need a better musky shop in the area....I have thought about it but the big cash to start it is the hard part. About the only thing available in the area are the main-stream baits.

Joemusky, if either one of us come up with the money to start it, we would be extremely successful in no time flat. when are you conna come over for your baits?

not everyone has rollies in their back yard, I agree we need a seious musky store where we can all gauk and play. We don't see any new stuff in our local stores ever. same old shizzo tail and a jar of stink bait.

I was under the impression that the Gander in Appleton was supposed to be the "example" as far as musky baits were concerned. I went there the other day, and the only musky baits I saw were in the bargain bin. and I'll tell you, they were not much of a bargain. I love the little guys, like Pete of the Sportsman, Jokin' Joes of Three Lakes, and Nelson's of Rhinelander.

The Gander in Atown has a new fishing manager who is a muskie fisherman. The store is having a muskie weekend at the end of April. The muskie section is supposed to be redone and like none that we have seen. I cant wait to check it out!!!!

Our Gander in Wausau has a fairly decent musky section(thanks Justin) but us in the central part of the state still have to travel/mail for those uncommon baits and tackle. Walleye and bass fisherman are very lucky in that respect!
