Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about going up to Leech Lake next summer and was wondering
if anybody uses big bucktails like Magnum Eagle Tails. Because you always here
people say that the fish in that lake prefer smaller bucktails. I was just wondering
if anybody tries big bucktails on Leecn.

Stick with Lily Tails and you'll do just fine.

Try a heavy tandem Raddog spinnerbait for a little more profile. Good colors are grey/silver blades, black & orange/flame blade and red/gold blade. Leech fish will eat them.

for the most part the guys are throwing the medium to small sized lures SPEED KILLS. It is tough to burn a eagle tail or falcon tail Unless you have hands the size of bill Sandys. Tanner wildes caught a 50"+ on his falcon tail (Very large bucktail) on vermillion last summer
I can see the larger buck tails working well in the weeds where a slower presention will do better.
the Hot Lure has ben our Llungen-Tale in the # 8 blade heavy enough to cast far and still easy to burn . I have also caught fish on our double LT and the Shumway Flashers. old standards Lilly tail and musky candy
good luck give us a report after your trip
