I just got some new 14 inch lures and they don't fit in my lakewood box. What way do you guys keep you bigger lures.

Thanks LeMay OUT

For my real big lures running 14-16 inches I like to use a 5 gallon bucket. I put
sand in the bottom to prevent tipping and cut pieces of plexi-glass to make a grid
of sorts in the bucket. I don't carry more than 6 or 8 or the real big lures with me
so this works in my boat. Tha sand helps in tipping and it also holds the plexi-glass
sheets from moving.

Whatever you do, it will more than likely be something home-made. I haven't
found much on the market for really big lures.

Here is a insert for a 5 gallon bucket might not be big enough for the 14's though? http://www.muskiebucket.com/

You can call B&B Bait Box. They make all the Lakewood's. They can make you anything you want. Any size. Any color. Even custom embroidery.

I have a sweet custom box from B&B that houses all of my custom spinnerbaits. It's Sweet.

I also have a tackle box in the making......I called it the Dog Coughin' (or Dog Coffin)......it will easily house Perrywinkle's, Wishmasters, etc. It's a monster. Made with an entire sheet of 3/4" marine grade plywood and 12' of 2X2's. Inside and out is encased in 2 layers of 18oz. fiberglass using 3.5 gallons of polyester resin. Right now, just the box, without the lid, weighs approx. 85 pounds!!! It's almost funny. I'm pretty sure it could withstand a blast from a SCUD missle. Make your own, it's fun. Or have B&B do the dirty work for ya.

Hi- Try an extra deep "Rubber Maid" rectangular tub with custom cut lexan inserts. Water proof and tough as they come. I use these for all my boating & camping gear. Helps keep stuff organized in "my garage", i.e., the ~ 8' long area she lets me use! LOL

Steve- Better get a hernia truss or better yet, get a crane to put that thing into the boat.

Have fun
Al
