| If I remember correctly, you previously stated you do the opposite of most people, and use larger lures in the spring, and go to smaller lures for summer, and larger lures again for fall. Am I correct (if not please ignore) So would you go out opening day and throw a 10" bait. How much do you downsize in the summer?

| MJB,
I don't recall saying this, but I THINK Jason Schillinger may have posted something like that once in regard to the reef hawg. Big ones fished slow and lazy in the cooler water of spring and fall and the smaller hawg quick hopped during the warmer summer temps.
Will I cast a 10" Jake on opening day? Sure, but it won't be my first choice. I'll typically start with a smaller presentation and let the fish tell me if a big bait is required.
Hope this helps.

| MJB this is what we do over here in Holland and Belgium. Feeding frenzy the first weeks of the season but them the temperature rises and pike go to deeper water, thus smaller lures and deeper diving ones are top. | |
