Hi! I have been a lurker for a while and now am planning my first muskie trip to MN. Looking for any advise for lodging/resorts. I'm planning to get Gregg Thomas as a guide for a couple of days and then fish the remaining time with my family. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Red Door Resort is on the North Shore. Clean rooms, good launch. Not much for the kids, though. Not really a resort, I guess. But it is in the thick of some prime fishing water. Gregg fishes out of there a lot, too.

I've also stayed at Izaty's Resort on the south shore. That is more of a full service resort; nice golf course, boat/jet ski rentals, good restaurant and bar.
Hope this helps.

Yeap, Gregg fishes right out of the Red Door Motel, very nice place and reasonable. Small towns are a short drive away or head into Brainerd for big time excitement!

If you plan on hiring Gregg for this coming summer you better contact him soon if you haven't. He is filling up really fast.

Gregg's cell phone to contact him here at the Extreme Expo is 606.776.6729. He's booking up fast, so I'd give him a call.

You are in for a great time. My partner and I have learned a ton from Gregg. Ask him to hook you up with an "AL 50" he will get a kick out of it. I caught the biggest fish ever in Gregg's boat this last year. It was a 54.25 incher and it was a beast. Never would have gone up north if it were not for Gregg. He is a fish catching SOB if I ever met one.

If you want to get on the water with Gregg, call now. I booked 7/11 today, and he only had about 10 other days available. I am looking forward to it.
