Location: Contrarian Island | yah that is a great deal..i got 2 on ebay for 122 each...they are solid reels..i'm not sure what is up with why so many are on the market right now..i thought they stopped making them 2-3 years ago but for some reason i have seen at least 4 retailers/people with quantities of 10+ each...they are brand new, never used..so not sure if Abu had a stock they found and released or they are making them again?? anyone know???

| Brad,
I was under the impression that they were discontinued over a year ago when ABU came out with the gold ones.5.3:1 on a 7000 is a screamer.Nice reels and nearly bulletproof. Steve |

| What do folks think about its weight at 21 oz. The 7000 C3 only weighs about 17. Is there a noticeable differene? Does it pick line up as quickly as the 7000 C3? |

Location: Contrarian Island | i do not notice the weight at all...they pick up line just like my BG 7000 HSN...they are nice reels and for the most part bulletproof... |

Location: Toronto, ON | MSKY HNR,
If you HAD to choose, would you take the CL or the HSN? I am interested in each and my friend's experience is that the CL series is bulletproof (mostly) while there are questions around the quality of the new Big Game Series, including the HSN.
Thanks, |

Location: Contrarian Island | I'd go with the black CL 7000 if i were you...these have been proven to be great reels for years.... |

| There was no way I was going to let a deal like that pass me up. Better not be a catch... |

| one in the order bank for me
these reels are almost bullet proof, I think your taking your chances with the HSN though. |

| Hey guys,
Don't get the HSN. I went through 2 last season with very little use. The last time they replaced it with a red one, I haven't seen or used the red one yet as it is at my Dad's, but I think Dick P. uses the red 7000's on his video. Hopefully it will hold up. Be careful with the gold HSN's as they are made in Taiwan, it says so right on the bottom and not Sweden.
Just my experience last season.

Location: Chicago, Beverly | how does the 7000c4ld compare to the bg7000cl? I know the difference seems to be gear ratio(4:1 on ld, 5:3 on cl) but for a reel to be used as a trolling reel/casting which would be the better choice? I forgot to mention the ld is $99
