what are the favorite spring muskie lures?
How do you determine the lure you select? is it based on temp? or???
How do you work it to make it work the best for you?
Basically, why do you favor the spring time lure????

| my favorite spring time lure would have to be a smaller bucktail with a french blade
because it enables me to cover water quickly and it is a good search lure for active fish. If that doesn't work and I am not moving fish I generally slow things down and work a bulldog or a small glidebait with good hang!  |

| I base it all on water temperature.Don't think they all have to be small either.Water temps will determine what I throw and how fast I work the bait.Last I checked, muskies can't read.Where you're fishing is also a determining factor. Steve |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | I will work the best spawning areas first no matter what the temps on the opener. Then as the days go by I start to move out toward the best greenest weeds.
Glide baits: Undertakers, Reef Hawgs and Weagal.
Twitch baits: Slammer 5 or 7-inch, Rapalas and Husky jerks.
Cranks: Bagleys, Rapalas or Baby Depth Raiders.
Plastics: Shallow Bull Dawgs.
Live bait: Suckers(8 to 12-inch). |

Location: Seymour, WI | Before last yr I was more of a bucktail man, but last spring I started twitching 6" shallow raiders and Jakes. I had alot of success with these two baits the first few wks of the WI season. They were also great on the figure 8. As the yr went on I went up to 8" versions and kept the same pattern going. Since then I've been buying lots of new crankbaits to try this yr.
