| For a first-timer I would consider a guide or someone that knows there way around. Its not pounded for good reason, dangerous boating to say the least.Some big fish not really numbers and fast action though. If you got a map, you could pm me and I can point out a couple different spring spots for ya. Good luck and be careful! |

| I would recomend trying to find cabbage. I have really good luck around the small clumps of cabbage tha I could find. Also do not try and fish too much, try and find a good area and learn it. Black bucktails were my go to lure there also. Like noted before, be carefull, lots of things to hit with your boat. |

Location: oswego, il | I agree with Kris. I did my best where I could find reeds with clumps of cabbage out from them. I never found any huge beds but the ones I found held fish, moreso than the wood. |

Location: Madison Wi. Chain | I have fished this area as well. In addition, to the cabbage I will also look for neck down areas where the old cannel comes through. If you can find some structure i.e. wood or weeds nearby this is a spot that deserves your attention. BG |

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | I second the idea of hiring a guide out there for your first trip. This place is a killer for props and lower units. The bottom is constantly changing.
Jeff Winters guides the TF, and I've been out there with him twice. Great guide and reasonably priced.

Location: Contrarian Island | early June I have found is TOUGH...i haven't fished it in the last 5 years..but from what I remember from buddies who fish it yearly they have better luck in Sept/Oct/Nov...I would second the idea of hiring a guide...one day with a guide picking his brain for spots/patterns etc will help alot..this body of water is HUGE and you need to really take all the info you can get from locals/guides etc
There are 50"ers in there no doubt...some guys claim to have even seen fish pushing WR status but who knows..it is a great body of water and is much like fishing canada in areas...you won't find alot of pressure for muskies out there either...
