I was able to watch Dick P's video over the weekend. What an awsome video, I still am dreaming of the Bobby Bait fish, big fish and great strike, even the camera man flinched on that one. What made the video fun to watch was the music that played during the highlight features. This got me thinking who here uses music to help get the blood flowing while driving to the lake to fish and also use music to wake the fish up while you are in the boat? If you were to put together a Greatest hits musky music tape what song's would be on it?

I caught a real nice fish whilst listening to thedude's 8 Mile CD, but there just seemed something so WRONG about a 50 year old man jammin to rap music while muskie fishing. I suppose if I can have more days on the water like that one I can get real used to it! m

The Cure-"Pictures of You" has been a constant when approaching a lake. This let's the fish know this is all you want. It works!!! Tournament fishing-The Cure-"Push"-This has worked for a first place finish in The Hoosier Muskie Classic and also a fifth and seventh place. It is either "Pictures of You" or "Push". "Push" is a little more agressive. "Push" and a couple cans of Red Bull and you can be unstoppable in a tournament.

"The Musky Shakes"- Mark

If you have not picked up the new BLS album(Zakk Wylde)----Mafia---- You should!!! It rocks!!!! Will be seeing Zakk on March 23rd at the rave in Milwaukee(still some tickets available I heard). Ozzys' guitarist(best the world has seen by far) just keeps getting better with age, and this album has it all! The first tune took me off my seat while watching tipups yesterday, and the last(song 15, a bonus) made my wife tear up(yeah there is a ballad or two enclosed).

For those that don't like metal for the lyrics, it is hard to discern some of them anyhow. The guitar work on this album is legendary!

I still like to think Randy Rhoads (RIP) is Ozzy's guitarist. My favorite anyhow.

I have to agree with "Uptown" on the Rockabilly....fish love it. I do disagree on the Social Distortion...though I cut my teeth on it in the 80's and is probably my all time favorite band but doesn't speak to the fish.

Tops of my list for the water are....

Charlie Feathers
Sleepy Labeef
The Road Kings
Danzig
Hatebreed
Slayer
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

I also have to say the 8 Mile soundtrack is good on the water.

Went to Zakk Wylde(BLS) concert night before last. All I can say is wow!!! I have seen Eddie Van Halen, Steven Vai, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mettalica, and many other guitar greats, but this guy honestly blows away any performer we've ever seen!!! My wife was skeptical about seeing a metal concert, but went knowing how much she likes his guitar and vocal work on his earlier, lighter albums. She went and bought his new album today, and is trying to get things arranged to go see them in Atlanta next month while visiting her sister. The preciseness, body, notes where there was not time, and electric southern metal solos on normally acoustic ballads were amazing. 2.5 hours was enough for all of us, and the fact that the band came outside afterwards and signed t-shirts and album covers was such a treat. The venue at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee was great as well, and I'd encourage anyone to check out a show there. Zakk told a story about how he got the guitar he was playing(the flying V just like Randy Rhoads), from darrel Abbott the late Pantera guitarist. He told us how special it was even though he prefferred his own custom Les Pauls. He then dedicated a song to all of the troops overseas stating how much he misses his wife and kids when away for a few weeks, let alone a tour of duty in the military. he kicked off the tune saying 'nothing is more important than God and family'. With that he went places that most(if not all) of todays guitarists admit they just cannot go.

Can't wait to jam the bootleg of this tour in the boat this May!!!
