Subject: Magellan handheld GPS


Does anyone have any experience using the Meridian series? The Meridian Gold is marked down $50 at Best Buy to $200, seems like a reasonable price.

I just went to thier web page and see that now they're offering Lake maps with Map Send. Because of this, I'd have to say that for 200.00, it's not a bad deal. One word of caution, the software may be difficult to get through a retailer and you may have to order it through Magellan and Magellan has been known to be a little fragile. I had 2 fall apart just by putting batteries in it.

I think we have the Gold Meridian for 200.00 or 250.00 with 10% Clearance electronics. We've never had the Map Send Lakes software, but it should be about 90.00
