Does anybody pack away their expensive Diamondbacks, G Loomis, Avids, etc, and switch to heavier and more durable rods when it gets super cold? I'm thinking I need a different cold-weather rod, something along the lines of a TB S series, because I'm afraid of breaking my expensive Diamondbacks. Am I worrying too much?

I have never had any problems but others have, so better safe than sorry. Go with St. Croix Premiers for cold weather.

Glass for suckfish`in, which I only really do in the cold weather. Otherwise I cast all my good rods until the eyes frezze! Never had a problem. I think some of these rods that (blow-up) may have already had some issues before hand!
