OK,

With the show season approaching I'd like to hear what new/improved lures, tackle, etc. will be available and what the prices will be. So you or your co. have something new you'll be introducing, here's your chance to beat your chest.

Please list what show's your stuff will be at and what booth.

I'm not showing anything, but I've got about 200+ Castor blanks waiting to be painted and 100- 10" bodies that I can weight to be anything from top waters to gliders.
Retirement can't come soon enough, so I can be a lure maker.

I'm sure looking forward to the shows this winter. I always enjoy talking muskies with everyone that stops by my booth.

I will have new bait patterns available for the 2005 season along with a line of new musky rods, lake map books (by Fishing the North Country) and hand crafted outerwear (scarfs & hats.) The scarfs & hats feature an embroidered musky applique (that was custom sewn for MRG) sewn onto the front of the hats, and on each of the scarves. Last but not least, for the future musky hunters that will be born in the coming months, I will have baby blankets with the same applique and lettering reading "Future Musky Hunter."

I hope to see all the MuskieFirst folks at the shows!

muskycore....I've been having fun with this one.
It can be a suface/ walkthedog lure. Not as noisy as a Weagle, but it "swishes".
I can weight it so it sits just under the surface and then it gldes back and forth with a nice belly flash running about >2' deep.
Then I can weight them neutrally so they will sink slow and glide with a nice wide glide and belly flash, then hang on the pause just like my Castors.
I just might keep all 100 of them......at least that's what I told my wife before she threw one at me.

OK, you opened the door...
Tuffy will be at most of the Muskie Shows this winter with a rethought, redesigned lineup. The new Esox Deep V models will feature a totally new interior, new weight distribution so the boat sits perfectly level at rest, 52" livewell, totally dry sealed locker storage, rod lockers that will hold 14 rods in tubes, organized, and a new rear deck module. There are too many new features to list. The price on the 20' model went down, while the new 17' and 17'6" model are at 2003 pricing right now.

The Esox Magnum is in redesign now, as is the Rampage Magnum. Same new dry storage lockers, and a face lift, too.

Here are a couple examples. The 1700 is in tooling at this time, and will be ready soon.

If I can get the baits made a friend and guide has agreed to offer my baits at the following shows:

Tri Esox Chicago

Extreme Musky Expo Chicago

These baits are made by myself from wood one at a time and are offered in many color schemes and two styles, the BeerBelly (top three) and Turmoil (pictured at the bottom).

I'll be at the Guide's Choice Pro Shop Booth at every show except Mn. Muskie Expo (we will be at the Extreme show in MN. however). Anyhow, we will have some custom colors of the new Uptown Dawgs from Muskie Innovations. Also will have a complete display of many manufacturers baits in our exclusive white belly perch pattern and other custom colors. That's all that comes to mind off hand.

Mepps will have the new #5 Marabou at the shows. It came out earlier this year. I had a chance to fish with it all season and it is an awesome spring bait. Same marabou action and colorado blade as the Musky Marabou in a bite size morsel for finnicky spring or cold front fish.

Mentzer Lures will be at the Pittsburgh Extreme Muskie Expo on Jan 7, 8, & 9 at booth # PA-117.

This is our first year. We will be returning an old favorite and productive lure, the "vamp" to see if there are any fishermen, or women, out there that still like old time bait casting. We will also have a small selection of leaders.

The lures can also be seen on our website for a preview: www.mentzerlures.com.

Hope to see you there.

Esox 50, We do have a topwater in the works... Waiting on a patent to go through it is pending... It will be called the TANTRUM (throw a tantrum)... 1 guy already tried to steal our name...good thing Dick is a lawyer and copyrighted it...

KSaurs, No pic of the Hell Hound yet... It looks and acts like a cross between a Manta and a Phantom (solid plastic)

Musky Nut Tackle has a new Topwater lure called the "Walking Eagle" or Weagle for short. The Weagle is a new topwater that "Swooshes" back and forth instead of just walking the dog like any other. The Weagle is built heavier, longer and thicker than most other zig zag style topwaters. So it won't "fly" away when attacked.

Or it could be that it is named after all those fisherman we know out there that are so full of it that they can't fly....

Got some hats that we'll have at a few of the shows but no T Shirts yet. I might have a few ideas on some cool shirts...

Happy Holidays!

On that note.
Trueglide will have our whole line of glidebaits and jerkbaits. Including the "Tremor" (formally the Tantrum) with and without the "Weedcheater". A metal lip that cuts through weeds and helps the bait survive constant contact with rocks. We will also have our new topwater. The "Heckler". Come see us at the MN Muskie Expo.

Just a ridiculous amount of new stuff this year that may or may not be at the shows. Here is just what i can think of off the top of my head.

Musky Innovations-Uptown Dawgs(Spring, Reg., Mag., Shallow Reg., Shallow Mag.) with more detail and MUCH softer plastic for even more action, Seducer (large walk-the-dog), Jammer (deep crank), and the Super Freak (large topwater crankbait).

Drifter Tackle-13"Solid and Jointed Believers, larger Super Stalker, larger Super Believer, and a 10"Jointed Stalker.

Musky Mania-14"Jake, 9" and 11" Squirrley Jakes, 7" Doc and the Magic Maker will be made of plastic.

Mepps-Marabou (smaller version of the Muskie Marabou)

Lindy/M&G-the original Muskie Tandem Spinnerbait will be back.

Holcombe-7.5" A-P-Lure and Magnum Double Trouble (largest double prop topwater since the old Cooty Bugs--awesome!!).

TB Tails-LARGE marabou tails.

Wahoo-4 baits (2 bucktails and 2 marabou tails) that are tied on heavy cable instead of heavy solid wire.

Lil'Hustler-Super Swim Jig (J-mac style jig but nicer looking with a bigger 8/0 Mustad Needle Point hook).

Beckman-bringing back the Pro size in the Fin Saver Pens

Frabill-new yoke on their nets.

Bucher-SlopMaster Tandem and Buzz, Swimmin'Joes and Raider Tails

Head Hunter-Muskrat (prop bait--kind of a take off of the Holcombe TopWalker).

Salmo-Dinner Bell, Turbo Jack, Hodag and Skinner

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Hey Guys,
VooDooTails is coming out with some really HOT HOT HOT new items for 2005. I was graced with visiting the "witchdoctors" lair last night and VooDooTail owner Chris Drury has been very busy designing some great new "tails" for 2005. Amongst his new offerings in 2005:

Mariboo Spinnerbaits with "flashaboo" trailers. Awesome colors available!
2 new styles of "in line" Mariboo tails. A single blade and double blade version.
The Skirtchaser. An in-line rubber skirt 'tail
The"Flutter" A short arm spinnerbait for breaklines and fishing heavy cover and thick weeds.

Chris is doubling his color selection this year in the Junior and Original sizes. He also will be sporting a new booth that rocks! It will have more product on it than last years booth and offer booth visitors much more selection. Also check out the new VooDooTails hats and T-Shirts brand new for 2005!

Stop by booth #70 and see some great bucktails made by the "Witchdoctor" himself. Also take a look at some pictures Chris will have at his booth of some really nice muskies caught on VooDooTails!!

Hope to see you there!!

If the larger SS Shads are as good as the original ones, I've got to have a few. Maybe more than a few.
