OK, reply to this thread until Zach can figure out what's happening wth the original.

Here's where we are...

You found the key once, you mentioned it too, now here is what you need to do:

Read the posts, the right ones, the winners, look for the source that got you to there, find me the source and I'll give you the clues to locate the winning item, it'll be easy for you!

Sure it will.

The keys as I see them are;

Esox Research Company and Esox Angler Magazine

Most of the people and products we have found have something to do with one
or both of those.

Just trying to move on to the BIG ONE.

This clue has nothing to do with the book; the formula the Riddler offers, you need to give a good look. If you take anything times two, subtract or add one, what do you get? Come on, this is FUN!

Look for the answer in the ones that won, then take the opposite, and begin the fun of finding the number, numerical, that is, that will find the winning object and prove you to be a Scavenger Riddle Wiz!

The answers to the clues so far:
Red
Hooks
DDD
3D in Chicago, 2 D in Esox Angler and Musky Hunter
DD
Dick Pearson
NW Angle
Doug Johnson
Betsy Pearson
Muskies On The Shield, the book which I have personally signed my Dick!
Odd number

My answer is 11 - There were 11 answers leading to this one. 11 is an odd number.

I will guess the magic # is 3

Three primary Colors
Three hooks on a treble hook
DDD
Dick, Doug and Betsy

Seems to be a pattern.

OK, I'll guess again...

FIRST(S) is my guess then I will attempt to explain. Or maybe '15' on a calender(answer in end)

Red-'Primary'- Which has a KEY place among all that guessed correctly

I am not certain if you are looking for a FIRST or Primary for hooks, but could link together FIRST hooks, then Red hooks

As in the DDD which was FIRST and 'Primary' then the DD came along as opposite or as a similar.

Dick Pearson which I believe to be FIRST and/or Primary then as opposites Betsy Pearson or Doug Johnson as similars.

As far as the correlation between NW Angle and/or Doug Johnson were as similars as above, or if it was part of the hunt.

Then, Muskies on the Shield THE BOOK which was FIRST and/or Primary then Similar or opposite is 'MUSKIES ON THE SHEILD, THE VIDEO, DVD'! Final answer!

Tomarrow the '15th'(which you may of been looking for) of December is when they start mailing out the VIDEO's to the public I believe, because I ordered one.

Close, or have I barked up the wrong tree?

Muskyboy has it right. Betsy and her fish will with a few clues point to the final nfo we need and seal this thing, at the end of the tunnel we see the final ligtht!

The Riddler now asks you to tell him someting not fishing, like the journalistic requirements of the story to get a reporter's report published instead of just wishing!

The story in the Muskies on the Shield book of Dick going out fishing by himself one morning on NW Angle LOTW, seeing a duck try to distract a bear away from her nest, Dick catching a musky while doing that, and another Bear sitting down to watch, all of which he captured on video. Probably the experience that started the concept of a Muskies on the Shield DVD!
