How'd the trip go yesterday? Jim called me in the morning excited about his first muskie ever, that was cool.

We slimed one 34"er right away in the morning and that was it.

Shep won it, imagine that, a 43", 42" & 34"

Fish were caught....only a 29" for me.

It really isn't easy fishing...and the water quality is the worst I've been on.

Great time, Hooters was good too.

Sounds like an yearly thing now.

We were in the pool.  My 45" and 44.5"ers did not quite beat out sheps 3 fish. Congrats to him.  He cracked the 34 right next to us at 3 o clock to go ahead.  I lost one at the same time roughly that nailed a board rod, and I could not get the planer off quick enough(I'll blame cold hands, partner blames me...), and it got slack. Never saw so many people pounding that river.  The word is out, but the fishing was not so hot.  A few guys got lucky, most got skunked.  i would say by the number of boats out there, it was about a 5-7% success ratio for all boats out that we saw/talked to. Won't be back till I hear of a better report, or tuesday, whichever comes first.  Will post a couple pics(if the background is ok too)when Bill sends to me.  Checked out some of Rogers new lures, awesome man!!!! He keeps amazing me with his creations.  Can't wait to try the twitcher he's created..

It wasn't any better today... 15 or so boats and saw two caught we lost one. Most people we talked to had no action at all. Fun to listen to the Packer game on the way home though..they kicked the winning field goal as I pulled in the driveway.

Great fish, Jason!

I had a blast Saturday. Met Jim Davenport at the launch, and gave him a bait to try out. I fished with a ViQueen fan, JLD II, from the WalleyeFirst board. He had no idea there was this little outing planned, with money and bragging rights at stake. It got pretty busy for us for a bit, as we caught our first fish, and then 20 minutes later the next. The next 20 minutes, we had 3 more, lost one on a Jake, with just 5' of line out! After that flurry, we had no action for the next 4 hours, or so. We had 2 measure fish at 42 and 43, and needed at least one more fish to seal the deal. Right at 3:00, I banged a board off a piling, and told Jack that that should wake them up! No sooner said, that board went back, and I had a fat 34 n the net! Jack, a LARGE man, had eaten all his snacks, and was getting hungry so we decided to call it a day. We stopped by Jason on the way out, and when he said he had a 44 and a 45, and was staying till dark, I tried to talk Jack into staying also. Not to be, as Jack's belly was rumbling for food!

We got to Hooter's, and settled in with Beer, Wings, and Jugs until the others showed up. Turns out Jason did not get another fish, and Jack and I won the pot of $180. After deducting my entry, and a couple round of drinks, I have $110 left. This will be forwarded to the fund for the KLY Memorial Okauchee Muskie Stocking. Thanks for smiling down on us Saturday, Kid!

As far as the handling of fish goes. I did see a couple fish handled pretty rough by 2 different boats, neither of which were associated with this outing. I did talk with the one guy about laying a fish on the dry carpet for pictures. Nicely, I advised that he should probably ask someone to take a quick pick, so as to avoid bringing the fish in the boat, and removing the slime from the fish. The other guys I didn't talk to.
