This morning I noticed a pretty good layer of skim ice on some of the local ponds......a sign of things to come early??

Derek, Ice up is not far away in N WI, how do you look to fish this weekend, next week, or the following weekend? Also when are you shipping the reel to me?

Hey, I might get out tomorrow. I will get that reel out this week to you. I've worked the last ten nights in a row so I haven't had much of a chance to make it to the post office. I might be able to make it out early in the week next week.

This morning when I got to work I checked my email. The first mail was from my neighbors up north....."Hard Water Report"......."John, It's Here!" hahahahahahaa

Man, I do love icefishing.

Any ice currently on the ponds should melt today and tomorrow, but looking at the forecast I don't know what this weekend will bring. A low of 9* on Thursday night!!! BBBUURRRRRRR

i'll be in Hodag country fishing Thursday - Saturday...the keel protector might just be playing ice-breaker. maybe if we hired out some local jetskiers each night to cruise laps around the shore it'd keep the water too stirred up to freeze overnight?

The forecast for the next 4 days is the same here as it is up north. 30º for a high Thursday and around 36º for friday.

Never say quit... sharpen up the keel and have at it, preferably in your partners boat.

They're saying mid to upper 40's for the rest of the week here in Madison area. 50's Sat, Sun and Monday.
Didn't get the lows though.
Sunday could be my last day out this year.
