No word yet? It was a nice day. How were the fish cooperating? Water temps in the upper 40's.

Luke_Chinewalker is the MAN! Who would have thought that the man who can find new and interesting ways to lose fish week in and week out would catch TWO fish when the whole tourney field of 63 teams only saw 6 fish caught. Congrats Mudd_Butt on the two fish (40" and 37") to take the title!

Guess we will hear about it during the fish fry...Way to go...Much easier to catch floating beer cans than muskies of any size there!

Yes it is true as hard as it may be to believe. But fear not Mr. Popper of the pills, I did indeed lose 3 fish that day because I have a reputation to live up to you know! Now that the event is over I can say it without fear of the muskie jynx, the Fox Chain Musky God OWES me! I can't and won't say how many days I have spent on that chain without even a sighting of a musky or even a carp sometimes.

Joel:
Way to go!!! I thought my brother was the only "Chief Hookemlosem" on the Chain. So you hooked 5 fish on Saturday? And only 6 fish were registered? HMMMMMM...what pattern could you have been on? anyway, congrats on the win.

Catching 2 legal fish on the chain in November is a task. Throw in no live bait and tournament conditions and it is a feat. Congratulations on a job well done. Muskyboy, I know that you have traveled to some of the best musky lakes in North America so comparitively your right. The chain has put out 4 over 50 this year which isn't too bad.

CONGRATS to Joe! They got tugs from 2 and got em in. that was a a tough job on Saturday.
We could'nt find Sh%# in an outhouse Everything looked great only 1 follow on about the 5th cast of the day and that was all.
The fall is a tough time out there. 2 fall tournaments with aprox 65 boats and 10-12 fish caught total.
Great tournament as uasual from the FRV thanks!!

We had spectacular weather with air temps hitting the 60's and water temps running from 47-50 degrees on the Chain. A perfect setting for fishing conditions with turnover completed! I had expectations that the field of 63 teams would bag at least a dozen muskies or so. After 4 hours of flinging cranks, gliders & jerkbaits my partner & I decided to troll. Little did we know that Joe Mellott & Terry Becker had already nailed a 40"er on Petite Lake earlier in the day. I was on the phone with Jo Jo when the second fish actually hit while they were trolling on Lake Marie around 3:00PM!! Joe dropped the cell and I heard the entire ordeal as Terry Becker fought the fish and Joe put her in the bag! Initial estimates before measuring put her at 40"!! Later the actual measurement turned out to be 37"!

Nonetheless, only 5 fish were caught by 126 anglers! A tough bite indeed. My hats off to Joe & Terry for boating 2 'skies and loosing 3 more. They definately had a trolling pattern dialed in. Congratulations to winning 1st place $900/each, big fish honors for another $600.00, trail team honors for another $500.00/each + a Mercury prop, 2 Mercury jackets and 2 St. Croix musky sticks & reels!! You guys cleaned up! Nnot bad for a days work guys!

I also want to thank everyone who fished this event. The food was great and the beer was cold and it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves. Most everyone who fished, returned for the dinner and awards banquet hosted by Chauncey Niziol! Chauncey did an outstanding job as our MC. and kept things moving.

Finally I want to thank all my fellow FRV board and club members who gave their time to run this event smoothly. Your help made this tournament what it is and it continues to get better & better each year! I also want to thank all our sponsors, who without their generous contributions, this event wouldn't be possible.

For those of you who haven't made one of our tournaments yet, I hope you can make it to the Spring 2005 Challunge on the Chain next April. It's really a great time for a one day event, even if it is held on the Chain!!
