Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Search the forums of MuskieFIRST and the back reaches of your mind for items listed in the clues here. I expect to award the prize for this one in December, go ahead and TRY to prove me wrong. So what's the prize? A secret, shhhhh only bait 6 pack of the best baits you can wish for, a MuskieFIRST Sweatshirt, and a MuskieFIRST coffee mug. OK, here we go.
Clue one.
Primary. Yes, primary. Primary I said. I mean primary, not secondary, primary said I.
Sorry Theedz, it's time for another hunt. Shep, let's see whatshoogot! |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Last Saturday Slamr and I found the fish along VERY sharp breaks on three areas of Pelican. We moved a bunch and caught 3 on a breakline that is solid rock, with boulders the size of cars in some areas. The fish were relating to the 6 to 15' primary break there. (Another identical area had some, but less forage , and we moved no fish there despite the conditions looking right.) Spot two was on a sharp break from 6 to 34', with a weedline edge. We moved a couple and caught a 42". Those fish were in 12' to 18', away from the weedline in 6 to 10'. Spot three was a sand breakline from 4' to 34' in about a cast and a half. I moved a pig, and we saw a couple others coming from about 6'. All were relating to perch, of that I am sure. Where we moved the fish, there were schools of little perch everywhere. |

Primary....
Primary colors are red, blue yellow (actually magenta, cyan and yellow).
Anyway, "look a bit back in this single thread" and "first of the first things".
The first "First" I see is the MuskieFirst which just happens to be in the "primary" color red.
How 'bout it riddler? Did I score a hit?

| to review...
red/first both "primary"
clicking the red MuskieFirst logo takes you to homepage
going west (left) on homepage you come to the OutdoorsFirst site lists
the summit (top) of these is WalleyeFirst, which also starts with "W" from going west
clicking WalleyeFirst brings us to...
"Norm has the spot but missed the plot, the clue was not real clear. Now go there, Norm, and search the place, BEFORE you have some beers."
perhaps the front half of the walleye in the WalleyeFirst logo???
it's the "before" part of the fish and it's "not real clear" due to the subdued logo???

Now let's see where that clue leads, what is the next clue, the one for all hunters, even Theedz?
Here we go, look here and there, what exaclty are we searching for that's NOT on the air? What is it like the last, but different for sure, what is that we search for? Here is a clue; an idea you can ponder, while all over OutdoorsFIRST your search makes you wander. It WAS there, I swear, it was, now it isn't, but the memory shoud be fresh, like a hologram or prism.
Intense desire, a want, a wish, all for the capture of a silly old fish.
Has the Riddler gone bonbkers. lost it, insane? Or is he asking you search on an entirely different plane? No he hasn't I don't think, he's just a little inane , but I promise and I wager his clues will be a pain!
Norm, don't despair, you were close had it almost; playing the Hunt beats just sitting on a fence post. Shep, where you at, you hiding or just afraid, that the Riddler will draw you in to his odd masquerade? |

| Seems as though from this thread others have fled. They know not where with these clues they will be led. Oh Riddler I ask why is it so in the anguish of others you bask with a glow??
My guess to bring this to the top is the thread showing the DDD in a bucks chop. Could it be that, you refer to the "hunt" and that "not in the air" refers to the ground. This behemoth was well grounded I'm sure.

| OK, I guess yet again.
Our first real "look" without actually seeing the bait was jlongs vivid description of the DDD posted 11-16-02:
Anyway, the lure that people are talking about is called the TripleD. It got its name from Dynamic Deep Diver... a phrase I coined a few years ago to refer to some of my old tinkered up crankbaits. The construction of this lure is unique and will definitely set a new standard for plastic lures. What is cool about this bait is it has split personalities... and I describe it as a "Jerkbait in Disguise". Combining near neutral bouyancy and a little engineering..... the lure can be worked in an erratic fashion with minimal effort. No more double pumping cranks and a sore shoulder at the end of the day!
Later, in the post, they started talking about the Purkinje Shift, which is the shift of vision from rod vision to cone vision due to the shift in light ['lite'].
Also in the same post was originally a "black and white CAD image" of the DDD that has since been removed. It once was there, now it is not????
Steve, I can picture you at the computer.
I've been there, I know.
Where the the road lead, with caution we must proceed.
Nowhere near to the end are we I bet.
No not quite, not just yet!!

My number 1 'concept' in Muskie Fishing, is the idea that everything is just another
tool. From my rods, reels and lures to my boat and electronics, everything is just
a tool that makes muskie fishing more fun, more productive and/or safer.
Time on the water is what it's all about.

Or another LAW, Art LAWtons disqualified fish?
Whether any of these are right or not, at least it's been nice to be on the right track for a change! |

It must be something to do with the WR musky. |

Are we talking about the 50" size limit? or Spearing?
The size limit would help, and the spearing is hurting. 2 'Laws' that need to change.

Opening Day for Muskie Fishing ?
"I'm more of a concept. To be fair." "I am what I am, I am what I'll be, so many
of you are looking up to me."
Hunt for the next world record -- "right track, has the idea, has the gist... It's about the
LAW it is."
Opening day changes every year, it is set when it is to be fair. (gives the fish a chance
to spawn) It's the LAW and we are "Looking up to the date when we can start fishing again."
Opening day starts the hunt for the next world record.
Just a guess to bring it back to page 1.

"I'm more of a concept. To be fair." "I am what I am, I am what I'll be, so many
of you are looking up to me." Everyone (most anyway) want to beat their PB.
Hunt for the next world record -- "right track, has the idea, has the gist... It's about the
LAW it is." There are minimum size limits which are LAWS that we must meet even when looking for a PB. Also the LAW of averages says the more time you're spending on the water (fishing) the better the likelihood of beating your PB.
Like FNF, just a guess...or the hopes for another clue....

LAW is the KEY to ... restoring record class or Trophy sized fish into Wisconsin lakes.
This all relates to the Genetics and Tournament fishing and sub 40" muskies threads.
To quote SW from the genetics thread... "I think some of the systems here in Northern Wisconsin should be designated as trophy only, perhaps at 50", maybe even 52". Will that insure greater numbers of 50" class fish available? No one is sure. I for one would sure like to see it tested." and also "Wisconsin gets it, alright, but we DO need to get the lakes capable of kicking out the big girls up to a 50" or even 52" limit."
and another SW quote from the sub 40" thread ..."You are attempting to argue muskie managenent through a Tournament minimum registered fish size, which is not going to work. What 'used to be trophy waters' and 'are no longer' can be the subject of a long debate, in fact, I think I made a reference to that earlier."
"What used to be and is no longer". World records was the right track the gist = trophy sized fish.
How about it Steve am I close now?

Law Key Maple = Lucky Maple like in the Wabull (made of maple)
or
Figurative Explanation... LAW KEY TREE = Conservation Congress / Variety of factors including winter habitat, spawning habitat, food, cover, predator prey, genetic strain (from smaller fish vs. trophy fish [of same strain]) and so on / all of these factors together form the tree with all of its branches.
Literal Explanation... LAW KEY TREE ...Tree = Arbor Vitae

No, it's not hunting, not a deer or a tree, I am not an object or thing, a ___________________ I be! Fill in the blank with the three letters and three, and you are on your way to discovering me. As for hamburger - RAW
"No, it's not hunting, not a deer or a tree, I am not an object or thing, a ___________________ I be!" The blank suggests a concept or idea. If it's a three letter word othre than WHY...than how about...ACT, TIP, BIT, END, AIM...

This is the motherlode, the clues to the win, they won't be real easy, they might be a bit thin, but follow the path, the one the Riddler set, and if you follow it well, you'll win it, I bet!
Ok, here we go, this is the first of the last, what did we discuss once just awhile ago in the past? Doug was the last one, the last one he was, now there is another, but I'm not looking for that yet because...
You have to get there from somewhere else today. Just follow the yellow brick road, as Dorothy would say. Name that road, and we all will be near to solving this riddle, this Scavenger Hunt, that's clear!! |

The following correct answers may create the road we need to go down.

NW Angle
Doug J.
The only thing I can get to use all these clues and my reasoning.
The PRIMARY bait (Double D is a bait) of DICK P and DOUG J when they fish in the NW ANGLE that is offered with RED HOOKS is a 10" suick!
Weird logic I know, but is the answer a 10" Suick or the Sideways Thriller?

There are 7 of them as one more than the number of baits to be won in the grand prize. The opposite of which right now is ZERO which is the number that I've won - or likely will win...
How about a 7' muskie stick...desparate times call for desparate guesses
I forecast 11 answers to win the big prize. Add the 7 clues already won and that makes 18 just like in the size of worral's boat for sale. It's not really for sale, it's part of the prize table

We found Doug Johnson, after finding Dick Pearson, who we found from a series of clues -- starting
with LAW +3 = Lawyer.
The clue states; "Im, the first of the last, Doug was the last one, the last one he was"
I think we are back to FIRST clue about Dick Pearson which is;
LAW or LAWYER??
Right????????????? |
|
| |
|
Posts: 259
Location: Alexandria, MN | Here is what I found in my review; first of all we tend to get way of track, but
the extra clues bring us back on track. Some clues are way harder than others,
but once you hear the answer the clues do make sense.
From the top;
Primary was for RED
Then came the W and WalleyeFirst which was The RED TREBLE HOOKS
Then he turned to hunting and we went to the buck with the DDD in it's mouth.
First Look at the DDD was in ESOX ANGLER
Then he backed up a step and asked for something "lite" and we went for the DD
Then a bunch of clues that had us going nuts, which brought us to LAWYER
Then the GRINDER
Then DICK PEARSON -- NW ANGLE -- another ? == DOUG JOHNSON
Now we are asked for the the first of the last. Doug was the last one, the last one he was, now there
is another, but I'm not looking for that yet because....... You have to get there from someplace else.
So my guess of Lawyer is taking a step back to "the first of the last" and see where this someplace else
is.
