| I currently have a deep cycle battery that only lasts about half a day of on and off use. I would like to know if anyone knows of a better battery that might give much more fishing time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I like the Stowaway Dual Purpose 850 if you can find one and also the Trojan scs 200. The scs 200 is also a dual purpose battery, Its not rated for Cranking quite as high as the stowaway, but both are real close on reserve capacity with the scs 200 advertising 6.5 hours of run time at 15 amps. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | I have been running Car Quest Gold Series 31 batteries for the last 2 years. So far I have been very impressed with the running time on the trolling motor using these batteries.
If your batteries have access to the cells, check the water level often. Even the low/no maintanence batteries need to be checked if they have cell caps. I think low water in the batery is a very common problem that sometimes doesn't get the attention it deserves.

I know Jason Smith replaced his batteries this year with a gel-cell from Car Quest. I believe he is very pleased with how long they keep a charge.

| I got two of the largest Dual Pro earlier this year. Have only used them for one season but they were awesome. I have an 1850 Hawk with a 65lb MinnKota and I could run it hard for 4 day s straight and not need recharging. Also have a Dual Pro on board charger and it is great. |
