Hi. Has any of you guys been to Wiley Point Lodge or Angle Outpost on lotw? Thinking about going up there next summer and needed some info on the places. One thing that i was wondering was if the rental boats had trolling motors on them at Wiley point? Also are there a lot of good islands and places to fish close to Angle Outpost? Thanks for the information!!!

Personally I would try Walsh's Bay Store Camp (www.baystorecamp.com) or Sandy's Blackhawk Island Camp if you want to mingle with quality muskie fisherman who know what's going on up there and have all the help you need when problems arise up there as is often the case. Wiley's (Canada) is nice but a long haul from everwhere (except quality fishing which it is in the middle of). Angle outpost (USA) is situated back in the angle a bit and will take a little more time and gas $$ to get you where the fish often are. I'm sure it's an ok place too though. Sandy's is top notch with Bill simply the best guide (and a great guy!) on the lake and Cindy being a great cook and fine socializer (and pretty nice to look at too!). Doug Johnson guides out of Walsh's as does Frank and occaisionally Dick Pearson--all great guides as well and extremely friendly and helpful. Staying at Walsh's (Minnesota) you'll have to check into Canada every day (phone call) but Sandy's is in Canada so no check in required after the initial at the ramp on arrival. Good luck!

Angle Outpost is the best of everything....Dave and Jessica are top notch, it's more affordable than just about anywhere else in the Angle, and Doug Johnson REALLY guides out of AO.....he lives there. It's not really that far away from anything, it's about a five minute boat ride from Sandy's place. The accomodations are excellent and lots of musky talent at the Outpost.

Try Monument Bay Lodge if you don't want to have such a long boat run everyday.
