My partner boated a 38"er on Sunday morning, which we knew wasn't nearly big enough to get us near the leader board, after 29 legals were caught on Saturday. We didn't go to the headquarters but rather started home to save a couple of hours of travel time. Does anybody know the final results or know of a website that may publish all the results?
It was a great time as always.

The biggest fish of the two days that we had heard rumor of was only 46.5". The WDNR should look at the results of this tournament versus those held in other states (like Minnesota) to compare fish lengths and their associated tournament placings. It sure would seem that a 40", 45", or larger size limit could help increase the average muskie length caught by the typical representative tournament fisherman. Typically, you could finish in the top ten with only 2 fish at 34".

Steve,

Lee Bastion and Scott Hanson, both of Rhinelander ended up winning. They had no fish on Saturday, went out Sunday popped a 44 incher in the first 10 casts. Registered the fish, waited the mandatory 15 minutes went out and boated a 39 incher 10 minutes later and where done for the day. Both fish came on a bucktail from a spot they moved multiple fish the day before.

I don't know the rest of the details on how many total fish were caught other than the fact that only 2 fish came from Pelican all weekend which happend to be the body of water I was fishing. How would you like to be one of the guys who didn't fish the tourney because thier first lake choice was full, Pelican. I wish it would have been full when I registered. O-well that's how it goes, and it was so hot leading up to the tourney. The problem was Norm Wild happend to catch all the fish out there over the last two weeks. They all had a sore mouth. I'll be back next year.

A great couple of guys, who where very deserved of this win. Lee is on our Musky League team along with Oneida and Mike Marquardt. We celebrated with them their families and about 20 other friends until about 9:00 last night. I then get home and find out another good friend has just won the Simply Fishing Tourney, I almost fell over. I called and talked to Jason’s wife, and then talked to J later. What a great night, It was fun to share it with a good group of people. I can only imagine what it would be like to win something like this myself.

Nail A Pig!

Mike
