| Congratulations do Dan Wojtusik and Jason Long on apparently winning the Simply fishing musky classic proving that even the little guys can get er done. Wow, that is unbelievable. Those two had a plan for winning that was different then everyone elses and that's what did it, not to mention a pretty good home made bait that Dan makes. Way to go Boys!!!!!! |

Location: Appleton, WI | That's just plain Awesome. Man, I'm really happy for Jason and Dan. It just proves how good of a fisherman that Jason and Dan are. I know those guys had did their homework, and Jason even has a few nice pics for doing his homework. So I wonder what the boys are thinking about doing with all that dough? I'm so happy for you guys that words can't describe it!!!!!! Pretty cool that a "thinking man's" fisherman prevails.
catch ya later,

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I was out in a judge boat piloted by Chad Cain today, assigned to a boat all day. Every contestant had a judge boat less that 100 yrads away at all times. I saw Jlong and his partner running and gunning, and spoke to Bob M right after they measured their fish today. Almost exactly the moment he told us of Jlong's fish, his satellite phone rang and a judge asked for a camera boat for Ty and Luke. We have some exceptional footage courtesy of Simply Fishing!
Chad and I watched as another boat not in the event drifting the same bay as out team caught and released a 51.5" hog. The fellows were from the North metro chapter MI, and promised to a picture to us. Interestingly, they had vacated the bay for our team to give them room, and caught that fish on a bucktail in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
Congrats to all who made the top ten, and to the top three including Tim Widlacki and Jason Summers, Ty and Luke, and of course Jason and Dan; the Champions!!!!!

Fantastic win !!! Goes to show - hard work and hustle can put any person into the money.
Any post tourny info on what general ares the teams fished ? Did many run to the weedy West ? The middle ? or
the beast of the East ? Which area provided the most action or fish ?
Rock fish - Weed fish ?
My guess on winning tactic - Grind deep granite edges, High hair/topwater and deep glides. Suspeded fish off structure. Of course I could be wrong and they got'em in shallow weeds twicthing tiny cranks !!!!
