I have a minkota on-board charger. It is about 1.5 years old, and isn't charging my battery already. When I plug it in, it shows a green light as if the battery is charged already, when in reality, it is not. I have a brand new battery on there, and it won't charge it. I have to keep pulling the battery and charging it with a regular charger. When I do it this way, it charges fine. Any ideas as to why the on-boaard charger is showing a full charge, but isn't charging the battery?
Thanks!

My guess is that a poor connection is reporting back to the charger that the battery is charged. You may need to tighten the connections or clean them. Also see this at times when my alligator clips are about eaten off.

Hate to say it but the MinnKota faired poorly in a magazine article which rated on board chargers. It was one of the worst or the worst charger if I remember correctly. The article was in a walleye magazine about 1 year ago. If you need to buy a new one, look at a Guest. Their customer service is second to none.

Thanks for all of the input so far guys. Not sure what I am gonna do yet, but it is still under warranty, so we'll see what happens with # 2, or if they can fix the problem. If it persists, I will check out the others out there.
