I have 4 Calcutas that are in need of repair. the thumb button doe's not want to come back up.
I live in Pewaukee and have used Easterlings before, unfortunately he will be on vacation for most of September. Who would you recomend? Need promt service (2 weeks or less). These reels were purchased in 2001 and have functioned fairly well. Can I send them to Shimano in California?

suggestions? Thanks, Mark Sankey

Shimano's customer service is top notch. Might want to call them first and see what they can do on the 2 week turnaround though. If it's the clutch spring (p/n 1307) you might want to have them send you a few spares.

Sanks,
If you want to try sending it in, you could try Critter Cabin Reel Repair in Eagle River. It's the brother of one of our MI board members. I haven't used him but I've heard he does very good work with minimal turnaround time.

I'd check with Shimano first to see what turnaround time would be.

I too woulds recommend Shimano in California.....I got mine back in less then a week with extra parts I asked for with an invoice that read $0.00

I can't say enough for Shimano....top notch!

If they can't get it done fast enough....send it to the Sportsman's Repair in Mosinee...Chuck will take care of you.
