Location: minneapolis | Just spoke with one of my partners- fished all week-end. Fish were moving both north and west side. Got a 38 and a very fat 49 with a bigger stuck fish lost boatside. The dark sky and rain probably helped alot. Moving fish on the Viper and jigs outside edge of the deep (still green) weeds. Vineland / Sherman's/ Wealthwood - he saw nothing on the rocks. Good Luck- should get even better the next couple of weeks. |

Location: Cohasset, MN | Spent 6 hours yesterday afternoon/evening on the SE side of the lake with 1 follow. The other guys at the ramp pulling their boats out said no luck for them either. |

| West end from 6-9 last night water was murky and low from the rain. Hit some gravel coming out of the public access just north of Vineland. Look out! water is about a foot deep! Fishing, no follows, one big ol pike on walleye reef hawg. One other boat in the huge a$$ bay I was fishing. Guess where he had to fish? 200' feet in front of me the whole night. Find your own spot chump! Its a HUGE lake!

I know what ya mean man, I have never seen people so rude as they are on that pond. A little courtesy goes along way... Had a guy pull in front within a casting distance when I was there about 3-4 weeks ago.
Yea I'm not sure what I'm going to find, we will get there late morning Sunday and fish Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday. Guess I will plan to keep the boat on the trailer and travel from SW side to North. We are staying in Isle so I'm sure I'll try the rocks, rocks/weeds by big point, doe, etc.
Too early for them to be in the shallow reeds isn't it..? Last report was deep weeds. Where the heck do all the rock fish go this time of year...? Just deeper I suppose...I know they all don't migrate to Vineland and Cove. I love the diversity of that pond, rock, weed, reed, sand, mud flats all in one big swimming pool.
Thanks guys I really appreciate the heads up. My wife has been trying for the past several years to get her first nice sized fish. She has had them on and lost them but at least now she doesn't scream and pull the bait away... I'm just happy she enjoys fishing and I get to spend time with her... one of these days she'll get to boat a nice one. Who knows she may beat me to a 50"er... I've only been trying for 20 years...
Thanks again, |

| Hey Mark,
You will never get your boat in at Wealthwood on the north side. You may want to pay the fee at the Red Door and fish the break from Red Door east toward Malmo. We have been seeing tons of fish on that shore since early July. Most of our fish have come on tandem bucktails (funky chickens) red/black tipped with white tails.

I have still found no takers for the Hayward Fall Tourney. I thought it would be a great invite. Oh well, looks like I fish alone.

Appreciate the tip, Red Door is worth the fee. I'm loaded up with red/white/black baits...should be good to go. |

| Saturday, 9/11, three follows on the west side, one fish hooked and lost on a rad dog. Saw the biggest smallie of life chasing a walleye reef hawg. Must have been 20 boats fishing Vineland, had one trick spot in there where we saw all the fish. Water is still very low at the Vineland public access. Managed to shine the prop again and I even knew the water was low. Mark H, any action on your end of the lake?

Location: Madison, WI | Have an opportunity to hit Mille Lacs in a week. Want to avoid turnover. Anybody have a report on water temps? Is it getting close? Any other fishing reports available?
Thanks in advance-

| Mille Lacs doesn't "turn over" like other lakes due to the relative shallow water found throughout the lake....doesn't get much deeper than about 40 feet in any spot, thus it doesn't stratify in the water column. I was up last weekend and found water temps in the 64-66 degree range on the north end of the lake.
Good luck.... |
