| What's your favorite buzzbait? I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these three: TnT Triklops, Grim Reaper, or a Boogerman. Opinions? Any others I should be looking at? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I use 'em alot, see the video from last year's Sabaskong trip. I use Violent Strike, the Magnum. 7/0 hooks, rides easy and slow.

| For fishing heavy slop the boogerman is great, not the best hookup percentage but it will get through the jungle to the fish. |

| Mikie had a big fish try to eat the Violent Strike he got at the Cave outing this past March.They make a distinctly DIFFERENT sound the fish don't "feel" as often.My theory anyway.The fish came from an area we'd raised a good one every day of the trip. Follow, follow, follow.Even the Weagle.She tried to eat the buzz bait.Hmmmm. Steve |

| I would not run a buzz bait unless I had the luxury of 2 or 3 baits in the water. Think there are usually better choices. |

| They work well even in heavy waves believe it or not, and they are great for slop. Good switch if topwater isn't producing.

Location: Athens, Ohio | The first fish I ever caught on topwater came off the Violent Strike buzz bait at Sabaskong Bay last Saturday night. Thanks so much to the Worrals for such a fine bait. It has a real clack to it, metallic instead of plastic-on-plastic like the boogerman, and the sway on the rubber skirt is an added attraction. I think it has a better suspension system, too. Try Tacklefirst and see if they are up for sale yet? Rides the weeds well, hardly ever a booger on it.
I threw the Triclops a bunch, too, lots I like about that bait but it did not bring me fish where I used it. I wouldn't hesitate to keep one in my tackle box, though, it is a bit slower of a bait and that has real possibilities in some conditions. m

Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | Buzzbaits have been a great producer for me this year.
I use in-line buzzbaits that have a little more subtle gurgle in the water than a buzz. Fish seem to go for them even after the other "better choice" topwater go over the top of them. Great baits in calm water. I like the CJ's and my #1 producer is a Nitro Buzzbait in duckling pattern with custom floaty snagger....hehe
I Like the Violent Strike for throwing into the reeds when there's a bit of a chop. |
