Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have one behind my truck right now! The boat features an entirely new polyflake interior, new totally sealed storage lockers, rear mounted lighted 52" livewell, lighted center rod locker that honestly will hold a dozen rods cleanly, a new battery and charger area built in under the rod locker, and this is the 17.5' model. The boat is available in a tiller, side console, and dual console, with a walk through configuration on the way.
Hope this helps.

| Here's a shot of the 1760's new lighted rear livewell configuration and a shot of the lighted rod locker (false floor removed to show battery and onboard charger storage). The white panel on the floor is pump access. The compartment next to the livewell is battery and oil access. The big compartment left of the rod loocker is storage, and there is storage and a cooler to the right of the locker. It really turned out great.

| Steve......In regards to the storage compartments, are these compartments independent or divided with bulk heads......? Where is the gas tank access......and did they move the tank aliittle forward........? Can this boat be wired for 12/36.....? Also, what is your recommendations for this Osprey VS Esox Deep V.......for Muskie fishing......? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | All the compartments in the boat are sealed individual fibergalss storage lockers, watertight from the bottom and top. The gas tank was moved forward to help balance the boat with the new 52" rear livewell. As far as this boat VS the Esox Deep V, it's a matter of personal choice. This boat has a large front deck, a big livewell, and a built in back area perfect for fishing muskies. It's a Walleye boat when I talk about it to Walleye anglers, and a Muskie boat when I talk about it to muskie anglers. Take a hard look at both before you make your choice! |

How long is the boat/motor/trailer w/ a swing away or slide-out tongue? Also, how long of rods can fit in the rod storage? How wide is the beam? Sorry about all the questions. This boat looks great. |

| The rod locker takes 4 -8' models, 4 -7.5' models, and 4 -7' models. the attached picture shows an 8' on the top, a 7' in the middle, and a 6.5' on the bottom of the locker. The rod handles are in clips in the rear, so the rod can't move at all. Note the staggered reel positions, so they don't interfere with each other.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | As soon as it is rigged, I will have that boat all over Minnesota and Wisconsin. This weekend it will be in my lot in Rhinelander; you are welcome to come see the rig if in the area. The new cockpit is much larger than the '04 model, and incorporates a polyflake finish throughout the sides and rear from floor to sidetank rod shelf. |

| Is this the same hull (not interior, obviously) as the late-model 1760's?
Thanks.

| Thank you for sending me the detailed pictures......Question........Did Tuffy leave the shelf above the new polyflake area......I couldn't make it out......as well as leaving a lip so you can secure your rods when on the fly.......Also, does the baitwell and livewell pumps have quick releases..... |

Has Tuffy considered building a boat without wall to wall capet? I'm thinking along the lines of the self bailing Whalers. I love my Esox Mag to death, but often wonder how guides manage to deal with carpet in a day in day out basis. Being a weekend warrior my carpet is still in good condition (ask Zach, he mentioned how nice it looked. :-)) but I know the guide end up killing the interiors.
I'd sure like to be able to hose the inside out after I spill my thermos of coffee. :-)) Seems the self bailing/minimal carpet interiors never took off in inland boats.

Hey, good hearing from you! Yes, same hull, but weight distribution, console, controls and cables, and complete interior are totally different than yours.
Why Knot,
Yes, the shelf is still there, lipped so rods stay put under power. Quick releases: I assume you mean the quick change cartridges in the livewell and bilge pumps which makes it a few second job to replace a pump, yes.
The carpet is the best one can put in a boat and will last for many years. Gel coat interiors are great for saltwater and Salmon rigs, but pretty unforgiving for the inland angler. Slippery if at all icy, wet, or , very hard on the eyes on a sunny day, and no easier really to clean up than the carpet we use now.

| Steve,
I tried dropping you a note a few weeks ago. I must have an out-dated email addy. I'll be in the market for a new rig before too long, and my old man is going to get one this Spring. Drop me a note, please, at [email protected]
Question on the pics above: Does that back lip on teh rod locker make it tough to get the rods in the bottom tubes? Most center rod lockers I've seen have the back wall connected to the lid, so it looks like an "L" that closes down over the top of the opening.
Also, putting a rod in the top tube must put a lot of stress on it with a heavy reel bouncing around on the back end. Have you thought of putting in a system to support the reel-end of the rod? Something like removeable bungees or straps that stretch across and provide something to rest the handles on seems like a good idea to me. Then again, I know I bang up my rods worse than that by piling them on top of each other in my standard rod locker...
I have a 1700 (not the 1760) and it's a phenominal rig for two guys. It'll be all over Leech this weekend. I bet the 1700 will be re-designed in the future. If it's at all possible, I'd love to see it rated for a 75. If I remember correctly, we talked about that and it's not possible???

| John,
The rods are supported on the other end, they are super easy to get in, really no need for the open end since the locker opening is so long. Here's a pic. The depth representation in these images is very poor, but the steps are deep enough so the reels hang down witout contacting the rods below them.

Yes, minnow bucket on either or both sides. Lights, yes, are only on when the locker is open, and they are LED lights, so drain will be low. |

| We won't know definite speeds since the weight dist. has changed slightly with the new model. The old model varied on top end depending on whether a jackplate was installed. With, high 50's, without, low to mid 50's. The assumption is that it will be very similar.
Will test the speeds and report sometime next week after the motor gets rigged. It will be rigged WITH a Slidemaster Jackplate. |

| Nice! I’ve been waiting for a walk-thru Tuffy for years. Hopefully by the time the walk-thru is ready The 150 Verado will also be available. Any chance I’ll be able to hang the 175 on it? Is the windshield going to be clear or with some sort of tint to it?
Thanks,
Mike |

Location: Illinois-Indiana | Steve,
It doesn't look like the side rails are big enough to stand on and cast, are they wider on the bigger models (boats)?
Also, is there a rear deck extension in the making? |
|

|

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The rear deck is already done placed solidly in front of the livewell, extending the platform the splashwell and livewell create. The front deck fishes two comfortably, and the rear deck one. This is a 17.5' boat, and probably will not fish 4 real comforatbly with everyone casting, but you certainly could.
If you want to walk the side tanks all the way around the boat, the Esox Deep V model is specifically designed as a walk around side tank interior. This boat is along the lines of the brand X Multi-specie models claiming to be Muskie boats, but with some very nice added features. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Wife and I took a ride to Worrall's Hideout and got a look at the rig this morning. For a boat of this size I am very impressed with the new layout changes. The front deck is like a dancefloor and there is more than adequate storage in the bow compartments. The rod locker is too sweet... 8 footers in the top row and 7'6"ers in the middle no problem... There were ideas shared and incorporated from various current and former Tuffy owners and the factory did an excellent job with the engineering on this boat. Can't wait to see what the new 2060 will look like ?...Stay tuned Muskiefriends the unveiling is coming soon..:)
I haven't seen the new deck extension yet but on the ride home I came up with a few prototype ideas in my little head "if" there is a need to input any revisions. From what Steve told me the deck extension is approximately as wide as one of the Lakewoods boxes pictured below. If you look at the picture with the boxes stacked 2-deep you should be able to see that there is enough room with the deck extension to still place a Lakewoods box behind each seat and still have enough floor room for the anglers to get out of their seats and be able to stand/step with adequate room to mount the front and/or rear deck. For reference the Lakewoods boxes pictured are the "Musky Medium" box 10.5"w x 14"h x 18.5"L.
No doubt this will become the boat of choice for those who are looking for a very muskie friendly mulit-species combination boat in the 17-18 foot model range. Exceptional for 2 anglers, comfortable for 3, and workable for 4 if needed. 1760 hull offers great performance and is capable of safely handling big water while still being user friendly for those "less than desireable" launches on the smaller 2-300 acre lakes.
A high quality glass boat just became an achievable dream for those who couldn't think they could afford it. Predatory perfomance on the prowl once again..:)
Here are some pictures of my Lakewoods boxes in two different postions behind the seats. My Frabill Big Kahuna fit nicely along side the passenger seat and the inner gunnel. I'm confident Frabill's Big Game model would lay flat on the floor between the seat pedistals.
