Looking for some help with my 36 volt trolling motor set up. This weekend while Laura and I fished the Mike James Mega we ran out of juice which normally never happens in 2-3 days. I had a loaner which was a 24 volt system, one battery was dissconnected, after having the 36 put back on I don't have enough voltage. I think the jump over is set up wrong. All batteries show full charge and ALL batteries are showing useage each charge. Can anyone walk me thru the proper set up.
I am in Canada and have nowhere to take it, local marinas have been no help.
Your reply would be greatly appreciated, or call me at night at Andy Meyers 807-227-2610
Thanks Tony

Tony - call Al Warner (EssoxManiac) at 608-847-6123. He should be able to help. And helpful he is.

Tony,

Not sure how that TM is set up. Is there just two wires going from the battery box to the plug to the TM? if so, here is how it should be connected. Negative lead form TM to neg on Bat1. Jumper from Pos on Bat 1 to Neg on Bat 2. Jumper from Pos on Bat 2 to Neg on Bat 3. Pos lead from TM to Pos on Bat 3. This will give you 12V x 3 = 36V. This is called a series connection.

It is possible that while connecting it back up to 36V, you connected two of the batteries in Parallel. That would result in 24V.Hope this helps. Let me know. If not, I will call there tonight, and try to talk you through. Does AML have a fax machine? I could fax up a drawing.
