Anyone out there have a problem with the screen refreshing every 10-20 seconds on their Matrix fishfinder/GPS while in the gps mode?? Solution or setting please please

It sounds like the unit is rebooting. Do you have a map card in the unit?

Is the unit protected from voltage surge from your outboard? That unit has a voltage protection feature that will shut the unit down if the voltage peaks, and allow it to restart.

Thanks Steve I was pissy earlier with this thing, the unit has the Navionics Gold XL3 chip in it but this refresh thing does not happen at all without the chip in it, the unit does not re-boot portions of the map dissapear and then refresh the unit does not restart, the voltage is steady at 12 volts

do you know anyone who has a chip you could borrow to see if yours is bad? I had one like that in my Sitex last year, it made the unit crazy.
