Hi Mike, My guess is you have to heavy a leader or you are not pausing enough between pulls. I use 86lb single stand leaders with no snap, put the eye of the leader right in the split ring. Long pulls with a pause has been the ticket for me over the years, Good Luck! TR

I can't add much to what "guest" said.

I've also found that you foul on the leader more when you OVER-work the lure. I like to rip these baits and then give them a lengthy pause... however if you get one that wants to foul... that is good because it means the bait wants to wander on the pull (or glide after after the pull)and you can tone down your efforts. Try a less intense sweeping motion for the pull and then let the bait rise and back away from your leader on the pause. Once you get the rythm, you'll learn to love TR's lures.

Good Luck.

P.S. Don't use a heavy leader like guest recommended. 100# Single Strand or less is best.

I think the other two posts pretty much have it covered. The only other thing would be to let it upright itself when it hits the water. Sometimes it will become fouled on the first pull.

I also notice that if you "T" the front hook it adds to the problem. I use a flouro leader and it does hang up from time to time but it is a fantastic lure just the same.

Don't over work the twitcher. let it float to the surface a couple of times each cast. That first pull after you let it come to the surface can be very exciting!! I have many fish this way! Stick a PIG!!
