Location: Stevens Point, WI | I saw an ad today for a 2004 Crestliner 1750 Fishhawk with a 90 HP 4-stroke that had an MSRP of $19,300. The dealer is offering a cash back voucher of $10,000 making the final cost of the boat $9300. How does this voucher work? Do they pay off the voucher when the loan is paid up? Is this really a good deal or is it better to go in with cash? Thanks for any help you can offer. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Never heard of this, interesting. I can tell you the 90 HP 4 stroke would be the better part of 70% of the final price at net, meaning you get the boat and trailer for about $3500. That is a steal. Let me know what you find out about this! |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | The ad was in the Stevens Point Buyer's Guide for the marina in Shawano, the boats are on display this weekend in Waupaca at the Baymont Inn. I'm going to call this week and find out more. |

A $18,300 price for a 1750 Fishhawk with a 90 HP Four-stroke would not be a good deal no matter how it was rigged. I would get a 115 anyway because a 90 is not quite enough motor for that boat.
For reference, I paid $16,700 last year for a rigged 1750 Fishhawk with a 115 Yamaha four-stroke. |

| The voucher is for $10,000 not $1,000. Depending on the rig you buy you can get vouchers up to $20,000. The way it works is you pay the full amount when you buy the boat and they give you a voucher for $10,000 that is due in about 3 years. The vouchers are owned by a clearinghouse and you will have a date when it is due. If you do not cash it in when it is due you get zilch. They know from experience that most people lose or forget about the voucher and never cash them in. If you remember and cash it in it's a good deal, if you forget you paid too much.
Good luck,

What 's the name of the marine dealer doing this... I'll tape the voucher the refrigerator for three years if needed... Sounds almost too good to be true but I'll check it out.
Name of dealer would be great... |

| Eventhough I've never dealt with them on anything big, only sparkplugs and other random stuff like that the folks at Shawano Power Sports have been great to talk to and that is the Crestliner dealer there.
Don't confuse them with American Marina. There are many many ticked off people who have dealt with them. I personally have not so I can't say but I have read threads on different boards where a lot of people are ready to burn that place down. I'll let you make your own conclusions but these are two very different places. American is more of a bulk dealer and Shawano Power Sports is much much smaller and more intimate to work with. |

Location: Hastings, mn, 55033 | so in order to qualify for this voucher deal, do you have to finance through a certain place, or can you find your own financing/or pay for boat at pick up? i am thinking if you have to finance to get the voucher, and it has to be with a specified place, interest rate is probably way high. there just has to be some catch here. if only one in 5 people took advantage of this and actually cashed the voucer in you'd have to think they'd lose money. i mean to give you back $10,000 after 3 years would be a steal!! |
