| I loved the where in the world game we played a few months back, so let's play the where in the world is Big Bertha game.
Where do you believe the biggest musky in the world lives at the moment?

Location: New Baden IL | Somewhere out in the middle of the Georgian Bay. She's about 25 miles out, suspended 28' down over 115' of water. The baitfish haven't gotten the urge to head into the islands to spawn yet, so she keeps them close, never more than a few tail kicks away. In that gin clear water, they dont stand a chance. The only good thing is she hits them so hard, there is no struggle...just lunch! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I am absolutley convinced for very good reason that fish resides in the Wabigoon chain, and probably a couple dozen other systems across the US and Canada. Minnesota could grow one in Mille Lacs, and maybe in the waters where the Great Lakes strain is present. Green Bay has big fish, getting bigger every year. The Winnebago system has potential. All the Great Lake waters could kick one out in the future. The Wisconsin River has some huge fish, and there are areas of that system that don't get fished much, if at all. Maybe Herbie will get her to go on Eagle, or Doug on LOTW. Sioux Narrows has some supertankers.
The Hybrid record could come from a western reservoir.
Maybe I am all wet, but I think the key is accessability to the fish. If the system is absolutley massive and very few anglers are hitting it when the fish are available, it's a crap shoot. Chance, good fortune, right place at the right time, heck it may come out of Boom Lake in Rhinelander.
My best bet is the Great Lakes and associated waters. My personal quest is the Wabigoon system. At least I have a method to my madness, saves me lots of angst. |

| Honestly, the two biggest muskies I have ever seen were in the Chip several years ago. I know big fish are still in there (and no one catches them), and the genetics of LCO produced out a 67 inch fish a few decades ago. Those genes are still in the WI fisheries, and Green Bay has real world record potential. MN is starting to blossom along with other US states. However, the biggest fish recently seem to have been spotted all over Canada, and myself I have seen some incredible monsters there on LOTW and Lac Suel. The Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers along with Georgian Bay have also turned out some real pigs in the last few years. Many of us have released fish in recent years that are now probably world record class! Will one of us be talented and lucky enough to catch such a beast?

| I actually think there are quite a few areas, like some of you, that will/could produce the world record. Eagle Lake, for sure has some swimming in it, Mille Lacs maybe could with the girth on some recent fish, not out of the question. The WI River system intrigues me and I do believe there are some monsters swimming in there. Flambeau Chain (Fence etc) probably has some for sure...The other lakes mentioned I have not fished or know too much about..but I think it will happen in the next few years for sure with all the great fisherman out there and all the new technology putting us on those big fatties!

| If I were to focus on record-class fish I would go anywhere but MN. The fish are short and skinny there. Not a chance to become record class fish. I mean, a 51 incher with only a 29" girth come on! I use fish like that for bait come Fall!
I believe the record will come from WI. As with cheeseheads and packer fans, the muskies too are more on the heavier side in that state. Must be the Johnsonvilles and Leinenkugel's.
Besides, there is only like two lakes in MN that have muskies, if there was a record swimming in those waters, it should have been caught by now. |

| Georgian Bay or its. tributaries or The Larry. The Otaawa has potential but not like the other two. To many big fish every year from those two bodies for to even think it would comr from anywere eles. In fact isnt Ken Obriens fish the only reeeeeealy verfiable record that exists |
