Stopped at a local marine dealer and he had an 18 foot 2002 Warrior SC Falcon with a 2002 125 Merc Saltwater Series engine on a trailer and both are carryovers. Never been in the water. He wants 18,500. How does that sound. High? Low?

For a carburated 125 that sounds high to me...

Sounds about right to me. I looked up some info for you.
Blue book for boats and motors
2002 Warrior Falcon SC = low sale $11,090 - $13,690 ave retail
2002 Merc 125 Salt water = low sale $ 4,350 - $5,175 ave retail

You could probably talk him down a little. The price on the boat includes the trailer.

Good Luck, Evar D

Thanks for the info. Any knocks against that motor? What are the advantages and disadvantages of a carb engine?

Advantage is the price. I just bought a stratos with another Johnson two sroke. I went with the carb because the price. I also have a 1984 115 johnson and never had a problem with it. Until they get the weight down on the four strokes I will never buy one. Disadvantages are, if you troll carb builds up and may foul plugs more often. Never had that problem. You wont see them probably after 2006. Talk to a local mechanic an he will go into specifics with you. The better fuel economy isnt all that much like they brag it up to be. Two strokes Can Not be beat for holeshot and speed. I dont know much about the 125 Merc as far as history goes.
