Location: Southern W.Va. | Only about 3 weeks to go till we're at the 2nd Sabaskong Bay outing . Does anyone have any Idea of the conditions , heard that the lake was back up a couple of feet from what it was last year and was wondering how much this will change the fishing. Should we look in other areas or should we stick to the same areas that produced last year? With the water up to normal pool ( if that is the case) how much will it change things? Will the bloom be as bad ?
Just wondering,

Location: In the slop! | Hi, I was up the last two weeks of July, bloom is very light for this time of year. The fish were really turning on toward the end of the trip. Water temps were up and down while I was there, about 65 when I left. Bucktails, spinnerbaits, topwaters, and jerkbaits (sledges) were the hot ticket for me. The fish were on the rocks and in the weeds, the weeds are more prolific than I have ever seen! It looks good for all attending the outing this year, wish I could make it. Good luck, Mike. |

Location: Southern W.Va. | Thanks for the info. I know what you mean about the sledges being hot as they were the ticket for me last year .

Location: St. Cloud, MN | Up there last week, surface temps were about 66-68 degrees. Needed the blankets at night. The algae was blowing around. Some bays were green. Same pattern as the prior message. Lots of follows and blowups. Saw a 48 cruising my buddy threw to it followed to the boat all the way, opening it's mouth ever so slightly and just nipping at it. Lots of short hitters. Hope they are all biters for you |

| Just got back from lotw on saturday. Caught 6 fish (43, 43, 40,37,36,34) and lost 11 with tons of follows. All fish were caught on reef hawgs Green flame I believe is the color and the bumble bee shallow invader. Was working the reef hawgs and shallow invader really slow. Found water temps as high as 72 and as low as 68. Most of the fish were on the wind blown side of the reefs in sabaskong. |

Thanks for info

Any further postings about the weather changes or fish movement would be great. Will be up in that area from the 21st thru the 28th on a Houseboat. Usually stay right on Shore Island. I'm bringing a first timer up there and would love to put him on a pig |

| Can anyone give me any info on LOTW maps? Are the Navionics chips any good for LOTW, Minnesota and Canada? |

Well we are in the second day of a cold front, fishing was good on tuesday night boated 3, lost one and seen 5 in about three hours. Then the weather took a crapp, huge winds and cold temps, did see a couple fish last night in the only fishable spot I found. The water temps are around 63.The weather is suppose to be ok for the next couple days, but cool at night so the water isn't going to warm much.Good luck

Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | I fish out of the Nestor Falls area and am a summer resident. Water temps on the lake were 61 degrees!!! yesterday. However, the wind has died down some and the muskies were really moving. I caught 4 and saw 10 - 12 in a little over 4 hours yesterday. The fish were on the rugged rocky points, the coves next to them, the bays with weeds, rocks and reeds. Water levels are down from earlier this year and the muskies seem to be more active. Bloom is not a real problem, yet. I think the next two weeks should be good if the weather stabilizes a little. I saw nice fish on nearly every spot I fished yesterday. The lake is at normal levels now. Fishing for me is not as good as last year for numbers but size is still good. |
