| Anyone care to share any words of wisdom regarding the Cisco Chain of Lakes in the UP? Does anyone have any advice regarding Cisco Lake or Thousand Island Lake?
Thanks in advance. |

Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | The chain has 3 lakes in Wisconsin...Big, Mamie and West Bay. To fish Cisco and TI, you'll need a Michgan permit. I've had alot of luck on the Wisconsin waters so I dont head up there too much, but can tell you this...a Non Resident permit is 28.00 and a week long permit is 24.00.
Both lakes you're looking for info on are huge, deep and clear bodies of water. Low light periods are best and if I were you, I'd look into the trolling regs because I believe you can troll Michigan waters.
I'd think about hiring a guide. Try Bruce Becker out of Land O lakes, Wi and Watersmeet, Mich

If you plan on fishing just Wisconsin waters, try Rob Manthei or Kenny Jackson |

Never heard or saw of Cisco Lake being called deep or clear. Always seemed sort of stained and sometimes dirty and never very deep. Do you fish the same lake? |

15 Ft is alot deeper than some you'll run into up there, but Black Oak it is'nt.
If you think Cisco is stained, take a trip over to Palmer, Cisco is like bath water compared to that. I do alot of my comparisons based on the water on Palmer, so I appologise if I get a little carried away. Cisco Lake is not a Butternut (Forrest co) or White Sand when looking at clearity, but it's clearer than alot of others.
I think we're talking about the same Cisco Lake, ever fished the mid-lake hump?
