Location: Chippewa Falls Wisconsin | Just thought I would like to let you guys know that at 6:15pm on July 23rd I finnally got my first fifty inch fish...infact it was 51". After over 450 releases....the dream went into the net.
Thanks to everyone for your support of feeling my anguish over the years for never breaking that impossible mark. With out you guys telling me "its going to happen someday"....I would have quit muskie fishing long ago....lol
Here is a few pics of the LOTW 51"
Again thanks for keeping my drive alive!

Location: Chippewa Falls Wisconsin | Ok now for the story since John MD insists...
Let say I just spent the last two hours cleaning the dust and dirt out of my truck and rig...there is only one place on the woods your rig can get so dirty going in and out....yes the NW Angle.
We had really hot weather and flat calm for the start of the week and only the low thiry fish were active, I got 6 of those. The fish were hitting real short, I lost about 8 of them, one twice in two days. Then some 30mph winds and and a cold front to end the week. The water temp was 66 when I started, by mid week it was 74 but the last two days it went down to 67 and the big girls started moving. I burned a 50" fish with only three head shakes on a 7" Slammer Thursday and got a 43.5" 10 minutes later on the same bait. Friday I moved some other good fish and had a paper route going. The big fish ate a Rad dog and I drove the front hook of the spinnerbait thru the roof of the fishes mouth with a powerfull hookset. I could have drug that fish back to camp. It made two laps and went into the net. She had it so deep I had to use jaw speaders to get it out and cut hooks. When I put here down on the flat stick in the boat it read 9"....then I rolled my stick over and it was 51". My boat partner and net my Bob Niehold did a great job and thought I was going to have a heart attack.....He keeped saying.." Are you ok!!!...lol
I went to a nearby spot started pitching and ....wham I got a 44"......after the big girl it was kinda weird.
Steve Worrall asked what is my next goal????
Its to net one for someone else!
Thanks everyone!

Location: Waukesha, WI | Congratualtions on a well deserved trophy! Now it is my turn. However, I can't wait for 450 releases. I'll be long gone before that. Let's see.....450 times 10000 casts ....= 1 sore back.

I can't think of anyone more deserving. You've put in the time and come up just fractions short on many occasions where lesser people would have just call them fifties.
Now that the money is off your back you'll probably get a windfall of them. I hope you do.
