OK...not a big troller but trying to get better.

I know some of you folks out there will have this info and would love to get a copy of your "cheat sheet" if I could!

Looking for depths of baits like little ernies, depthraiders, jakes (8 and 10), little swim wizzes etc. for 80 lb power pro or tuff line for various length line out, 5-35 feet range.

I need more confidence in knowing where my baits are running and this will at least put me closer to what I am doing now...yeah yeah I can find a slopping flat and figure it out...but my time on the water is limited so I rather fish...so I was hoping someone with this info will feel sorry for me and show pitty and share their hard earned info!!! I am willing to share what I know about muskie fishing if you have 2 minutes!

great question. I am also just starting out in the trolling game, bought a couple of DB-4's yesterday and wanted to head out friday. I also have 80 pound power pro on my lines and was wondering how deep these would run. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I use depthraiders alot and 25ft of line out will put you at about 10ft. 20ft out will get you around 8ft. I tend not to troll much deeper than that except a couple select lakes. I usually don't find active fish much lower on the shad lakes anyway.

I'll second Todd's observations and add that at 35' out you're down to 14' at 4mph with rod tip in the water. I just got Daiwa line counter reels and ran them last week. The 8"Jakes run about the same and the 10"ers run just a little shallower (probably because they the lip size is about the same but the bigger one has more floataion).

I know a 13" Grandma with 90' of 80lb power pro will go down 17 or 18 feet at 3.5 MPH. You have to figure in all facters speed , line dia. and line out.
