Heading to Monument Bay.

Any word on where to start concentrating? Weeds, rocks, rock/weed combos.

I figured you guys could help me lower the learning curve if you have been up there.

In the northern end of the lake rock/weed combos have been best for me up to now and with the warm weather lately they should be getting more aggressive by the day.

Good luck on your trip!

Tip,
Get the Labatts Maximum Ice, it weighs in at 7.5% alcohol, the most bang for your buck. The "natives" up there turned me on to it, good stuff with a punch!

Thanks Komer. I knew you were good for something.

We will have to do that. 7 nights at Monument Bay, we need to get the most bang for our buck.

Beauty of it is, there are 4 of us, but 2 don't drink.

So considering we can bring in 4 cases, that leave 2 cases a piece for me and my buddy.

Hmm, let's do some math, 48 beers each divided by 7 nights, that's 6.8 beers each per night. My buddy is a light weight, so I can probably have some of his.

Sweet, with the 7.5% alcohol in that beer, it's like getting 2 cases for the price of one.

I might not have to head back to Young's Bay to get more beer after all.

Woo Hoo

I did very well up there the first week in July. The standard west facing sandy bays full of cabbage should not be ignored. Weed/rock combination were also very good. Specifically where the weeds ended and the rocks started. You won't have to go far, the best bite was in Monument Bay!! I also did very well fishing the big narrows. Be sure and check out a couple spots in Outer and Portage Bay. Close and productive area's. I trashed a pacemaker while I was there and the topwater bite was really coming on when I left. Spinnerbaits were also holding their own (grinder & funky chicken). Water levels are closer to normal. I saw too many big fish to count. Totals for the week...boated 8 / raised 36. Good luck and have a great trip!!

CPR , what time of year is best to go to lotw? We might be looking at going next year. We are looking for big fish and action. This year we were on Eagle and boated 17 fish with numeroues follows. Looking for 50'' + fish however. We did pull one out of our group at 50 1/2''.
