Hello All,

I leave Friday for the Hayward area for 9 days. I'll be fishing all the usual lakes I like to hit while there (Chip, Sand, Big Siss) but I'm looking at fishing a few I've not been on before. I'd like to catch big fish as well as numbers. As my good friend and fishing partner Robby D. likes to say..."I'm a numbers guy but the quality gets worked in". I was thinking about Lost Land/Teal or Winter lake or somewhere in the area. I'm looking for advice...anything you can add will help. Hope all is well.

Thank you.

Thanks DeanJ,

I fished it once back in October of 1996 for a full day with Fuzzy Shumway. We didn't raise a fish but it looked like a great body of water. I appreciate your info and if I get on her I'll let you know how I do.

Thanks again!

It can be a tough nut to crack, I've put may a long hour in on that lake in the past 12 years... But it is worth the time!

Good Luck

(I'd be happy to exchange tips for any Sand Lake info you have )

Fish the weeds on lost land and teal, easpecially the cabbage. I fished teal alot more, it is darker and has more rock. On teal fish the bays on the west side and the shorelines connecting those bays hold cruising fish. So does the entire shoreline along ross's resort. Fish the outlet to the flowage too and the cabbage bed around the rock.

Little Siss (fair action and I've seen some fish over 40"). It's an odd lake though.

Whitefish or LCO if you get a cloudy day. LCO can be good, but even when it's good, it's not an "action lake".

River trips can be good too.

I like the Spider Chain.

And, although it's mostly dinks, Tiger Cat actually does have some decent fish. I had a follow from a very nice fish a couple years back.
