| My friends dad caught a beaver he's got a picture of it. I think the bucktail is still in its mouth in the picture. I'll try to get it and post it. |

| I caught an egret last summer on Vermilion. I was coming around a point an startled the bird after my cast was airborne. The bird flew into the line and the lure wrapped around the poor thing's neck. I motored over and threw a coat over the bird's head to calm it down and carefully removed the hook. I was rather embarrassed as lakeside residents watched the event subside. But they clapped and cheered after the bird flew away. One for the birds. capt bigfish |

| Follower, my mom said that she's taking your friend's dad to court and he's going to have to pay for the surgery she needed.
I've been hooked on my own accord, so I guess that I've caught a Beaver too.
I'm 6'2", 230#, that means that I probably have the State and possibly the world record.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | That is a good thing to remeber....if you happen to catch a bird(eagle, loon, owl)....cover their head and you should be able to handle it well enough to unhook it....biggest thing to watch out for is NOT the beak, it's the talons. |

| I was trolling a 10" jointed believer and snagged a 15 pound dead catfish with it's guts eaten out. Sweet.

| Rock bass on bucktails, walleye fishing in canada I caught a jighead attached to some line, pulled the line in to get it out of there, and I came with a rusty ol baitcaster and reel! |

| Last week on LOW and I came up to do a F-8 and felt weight, so I set. The weight was about a 25# snapping turtle that must have surfaced as I was F-8. It was snagged in the front leg, then the back leg where it stayed. I grabbed the tail, hosted out of the water, removed my bait and my buddy would not take a picuture. - Gerard |

| Harpooned a 1.5 inch minnow with a Legend Plow while trolling.
Snagged some line and pulled up a complete spinning outfit.
Had an Eagle swoop down and just miss my Topraider...What a hassle that would have been!

Location: Cohasset, MN | Great Blue Heron flew in to my line as it was paying out and wrapped around its foot. Bird had a less than graceful water landing. The hooks never touched the bird and it was free quickly. |

| Over many years of fishing, I've caught everything from gulls 2 ducks 2 pelicans...a boot, mussel shells, shrubs/trees, a lid for a 50 gal. drum...a few yrs. ago while fishing for trouts in the river below the hooch here, I snagged the loop on a snelled hook w/ a spinner; reeled in a dead trout that had been gut hooked, broken off and apparently died and was wedged in the rocks. Gotta be stuff I've forgotten about...most recent oddity, caught a bed sheet in the surf after Isabel this past fall... |

Location: Kawarthas, Ontario | Hmmm... I've dredged up an interesting collection of items over the years: a lawn chair, a running shoe, a 20 pound snapping turtle, a seagull, a set of rain pants, a nice muskie casting outfit topped with an ABU-Garcia 6501 reel... but the most memorable was a 75 pound houseboat anchor. (Landing it was a real challenge!!!) At the end of the day (literally) I sold it, and used the proceeds to purchase 3 new muskie lures.

Location: Eagan, MN | I caught a big heron or egret (something of that ilk) on a jackpot. It didn't get tangled in my line like some other posts here. The bird actually grabbed it in it's mouth. Also caught a dogfish on a figure eight once. |

Location: Minneapolis,Minnesota | Last weekenb on Lake Bemidiji I caught a state record rock bass on a Raddog spinnerbait. Granted I didn't know what the record was at the time so we just let the big pig go.
I wish Papa Joe would send me the pics so I can post them.

| Caught an egret a few years back on a burt. The bait hit the thing in midair and he dropped like a rock.
Had a loon follow a jackpot last year. What a mess that would have been. |

Location: Wausau | Caught a blackbird in mid air, what a comotion that was. This year I caught about 40 feet of braided line and attached was a nice leader and a new Mepps Marabou, the sad thing was it is the only thing I have caught on my musky tackle this year.

Location: Eau Claire,WI | Lets see,I have done the turtle thing, snagged by accident about 10 different kinds of fish, caught
anchors, fishing line and lures.I had a cormorrant try and eat a bucktail ,that was a trip! I have
had owls go after topwaters and I have hit bats in the air when casting.I am also a great catcher
of trees, logs, and submerged cribs. I even caught a muskie or 3 along the way! |

| last year while trolling had a lady in a small sailboat come whizzing about 15 feet behind me and snag all 3 lines. I couldnt believe it, she just about stopped on a dime. To top it off she starts yelling at me to free my lines like it is my fault. I had $60
worth of lures out there and she wanted me to cut the lines. Finally they come free , she says nothing and just glares at me. |
