| Has anyone thrown these before? If so, how did/do you like them? Can you describe to me the specifics of the bait? I think it's marabou but I'm not sure. Anyhow, I'm looking for a new big fish bait for LOTW next year. I know Ramsell's 57" ate one and Booth's 56" Georgian Bay (or was it the Moon River??) giant ate one, so I'm gonna guess monstro the whale I spotted on LOTW will also chow down on one (theoretically). Thanks!! |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I've never seen them but I am sure they catch fish like most other baits, but those big fish you mentioned basicly came from big fish waters, many other monsters are caught every year or other baits.
I had a client give me a huge bucktails ( 15 inches min ) made from chicken feathers and probably maraboo with a size 10 colorado blade, caught 2 fish the second time I bothered to through it ( the think when wet is like casting a brick ) and both were under 40 inches. I'm sure if I through it enough this summer I'll catch a legal (54) or two on it.
I'm a stong believer in the big lures = big fish theory, but a buddy did get a 58 incher on an 8 inch jake last fall, but I thnik that was because of the body of water he was fishing. |

Location: Alexandria, MN | I have heard they are a good lure, well built. I also feel that the lure doesn't matter.
If you have a lure in the water around a fish that is ON -- you will catch it on that lure.
I use lures that I have confidence in, not lures that others have confidence in.
Keep throwing what has worked for you in the past. Try hitting the PIG at a different time of day.
Good Luck! |

| Accept that, "Doing what you always did, will get you what you always got," to quote one of the greats. I do understand the importance of hitting a prime spot under prime conditions or just at another time; I lost a 50-51" last summer on LOTW when we returned under blue bird skies after days of hitting it in the evening, under cloudy skies, etc. Thanks for your input! Keep 'em coming! |

Location: Hamilton,Ont Canada | There a solid bait with good color combinations. They are marabou with some hackle at the end. The only thing some people don't like is the fact the bait is 12-14" long and has only a single treble hook at the end of the bait. I added another treble at the start of the body and no problems.

| Do you know off hand what the color combos are? How did you add a second treble in front of the rear? |

| Jody Mills here, maker of the Georgian Bayt. Oodles of 50" plus fish caught on the Bayt so far THIS season with 3 over 55" including a 57". Happy to have landed a 50.5" and a 53" in my own boat with the Bayt this season as well.
Web page for the Georgian Bayt is in the making as I type this. Colours available are
BODY
blk, brn, wht, red, yel, gry, prpl, org, chrt or any combo there-of also offered is a special walleye that is unlike any other walleye out there.
BLADES
-Single
sil, brs, flo-org, chrt, glow
-Double
sil, brs, cop, blk, flo-org, chrt or any combo there-of.
Georgian Bayts were originally produced with a forward hook as well as a back hook. But after extensive testing on giant fish, the back hook only Bayts consistantly HELD fish better than the Bayts with two hooks. ZERO LEVERAGE !!!!
And yes the Georgian Bayt is a Marabou in-line spinner.
Keep an eye on www.canadaVmall.com/jody for the upcoming link to the Georgian Bayt web page.

Location: Anprior Ontario, Canada | To quote muskie legend Doug Johnson " If it moves its food". It is not about a secret lure just being in the right place at the right time. Giant lures dont always catch giant fish. Many 50+ on 7-8 inch baits like jakes and muskie killers. Use something your confident with. The fish will come. |
